Jon Cole Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 First, my daily ride is... ...the bosses! Once I drop off the kids at school, I can get 95% of my errands done "on the way home" nudge, nudge; wink, wink! The other 5% of the time, It's my '95 GC. It's great in the winter! I had this one for a long time, a '65 Corvair Monza. Lots of fun at a full service gas station (back when they had such a place) telling the kid to "check the oil", almost always go the front of the car! But the Corvair that my avatar stands for is this '63 Corvair Spyder. Previous owner rebuilt her mechanically, my plan was to re-do the body. I kept saying that for almost 15 years! Finally sold it. I had it registered for about six months, then parked it to "restore" it. Yeah, suuuure!

Rudy Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 Sorry about the double-post. Q for Rudy or anyone else... what is the red object under the fuel cell on the 'Stang? -Thanks- That is the Aeromotive A1000 fuel pump with fore and aft filters 100microns and 10 microns respectively...... It is cabable of supporting 1,300 hp...! There is a nice write up on how these pumps are made at the Aeromotive plant, in the latest issue of HOT ROD magazine. Rudy
Rick Schmidt Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 This is my Daily driver A 2001 V6 Mustang Bone stock and I really have no plans to do anything to it. Heres the reason my 01 will have nothing done lol My 82 GLX Mustang if it can be changed on it it will be or already has been lol 79 pace car nose and rear hatch ( saved from a fool that was gonna race on the dirt track with the nose on ) 93 Model doors ( better design in the power window setup) and 93 interior just for the look i wanted. All that was done when she ran with her inline 6 but now that the motor quit She is patiently awaiting her 351 hehehe. The wifes car Just a basic little 88 Camry looks ugly but its a Toyota and still goes like one lol everything including the AC still works Our Work Monster ( replaced the prevoius work monster called the blue monster lol ) 92 Ford 150 5.0 long wide geared and sprung in the rear to pull not go fast by its previous and only owner lol. We still have yet to figure what that old man pulled with it lol. This is also what My wife drives a lot when its just her and maybe the kids. Our other project car just a basic 84 Stang with a 4 banger. Plans are to just redo it to a nice little driver for the wife

Ron L Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 My daily driver. Not my pic, but you get the idea. 1989 Mercury, 194k miles, manual everything. Mom bought it brand new and took good care of it and gave it to me at 190k when she bought a new car. Drives and (almost) looks like the day she bought it. Back-up daily driver, 1989 LSC. All stock except for big tube headers installed by a previous owner, and obviously the 1996 Cobra wheels. Ongoing project car, since 1989. Currently a 289, 5-speed, 4wheel disc, fuel cell, etc. Wife drives a 2004 Mazda Protege, stock except for the optional alloy wheels and 55-series tires. So much fun on twisty roads, even for an automatic. I'm surprised how well-tuned that suspension is from the factory.
Nick F40 Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Ongoing project car, since 1989. Currently a 289, 5-speed, 4wheel disc, fuel cell, etc. I like it, sounds like a nice one to, those 289's are potent motors. I love old Mustangs to.

Bainford Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 This Mustang was my daily driver for six years. Unfortunately, it hasn't turned a wheel in almost ten years. With any luck it will see action again summer 09.
Nick F40 Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Ok, now that's my favorite year and style Mustang, gotta love the 69's. Whats even cooler, is that it's your daily driver, well, used to, but if I had one it would sure be one. My uncle and I worked on this one that was like that, I'll post pics up!

I love the European package wheels on yours. What suspension mods have you done? I've done a fair amount of stuff to it, I'm running the Ford Racing Dynamic suspension which is produced by Multimatic (same people that build the FR500C Mustangs). Handles really well, a nice step up from the already exceptional stock suspension. Have you gotten a custom tune for yours? It makes an amazing difference in the car. I've also done, Stage 2 ported throttle body Urethane inserts in the rear engine mount Wrapped the header Home built semi cold air intake Borla exhaust Etc,Etc,Etc. BTW-I didn't browse the entire thread, did you post pics of yours?
MPi-KM Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 1989 Toyota MR2 and a 1998 Lincoln Towncar, 2 complete opposites of each other.

Junkman Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Well I'm one of those lucky people who can walk to work, but this is my fun car, its been a work in progress for the past 13 or so years. It looks a little rough but its never left me stranded. 1969 Toyota FJ55 Land Cruiser Wagon Wow! I haven't seen one of these in this millenium. And not in the last decade of the last one either when I think of it. I bought one of these almost new in -let me lie - 1983? as a service/tow car for our rallye team. Sturdy, indestructible, never broken, but a bit harsh in the suspension department. I wish I'd never sold it. Now HERE is a kit subject! Tamiya? Aoshima? Fujimi? Hasegawa? Anybody hear me?

I wish they would have but all I'm seeing is the occasional FJ45 or maybe FJ40 but usually the FJ80.
