angelo7 Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Here are a couple builds that I used the kits for including the Dodge CN 800 resin. I know this is an old post but I would like to ask Dan (Mopar D) how you did this trailer. Did you cut it or it came this size? How long is it? I want to do one like this.
maxwell48098 Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Not Dan, but his trailer a a shorty based on using just half of the IMC / Testors / Lindberg van trailer. I actually used half of a van kit to build a Dodge L700 delivery truck. A.J.
angelo7 Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Thanks A.J. I like your truck, nice color combination. So, all parts fit nicely without cutting? Thanks again! Angelo
Mopar - D Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Angelo the trailer that comes in the kit is this size you have to glue the two halfs together to make the 48' trailer. No cutting required. Sorry for the delay
angelo7 Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 (edited) Thank you Dan! I bought the Lindberg (IMC) trailer and ended up cutting half of one of the halves. So now it is approx 13 inches long. I want to make a 28' trailer, single axle. Still in progress. Edited March 19, 2015 by angelo7
Edsel-Dan Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Actually at the time this trailer was originally tooled, the max length for a Semi trailer was 40 feet not 48 Those did not start for almost another 20 years I think 45's Might have been about 15 years after this kit was tooled, but, still a Long way off back then
Jim B Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 I might be mildly interested in the box trailer if it comes back, but not if it's in combination with the L700. Don't need another one of those.
Casey Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 (edited) Just noticed two things on the orignal issue IMC Dodge L-700 Tilt Cab's box art: 1) Are three seats included? Hard to tell, but it looks like there are three separate seats. 2) Looks like the front wheels are six-spokes, not the five spoke Dayton wheels included with the kit. I would guess the box art is based on a factory ad or photo, so not too surprising the wheels don't match up. Edited August 24, 2018 by Casey
OldTrucker Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 Yes on the seats. The center seat is smaller. The original kit I had the front wheels were the same as the latest issues!
Dave Van Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 Just finished this one with a few mods....Gofer decals

Most pictures that I have found have the disc wheels on the L600 and the spoke style on the L700. I know at some point I saw a Dodge sales brochure that mentioned the wheels but I can't locate it now but I seem to remember them using Gunite spokes.
rssschris Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 Can anyone help me identify what part # 50 is for the l-700 ? My instructions don`t show it. Thanks, Chris

Can you post a pic of the part in question? My IMC kit has no part numbers anywhere, so maybe I could help if I saw the part. Edited March 30, 2019 by Casey
rssschris Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 Thanks for the reply Casey, I was unable to post the pic. I had a couple other Lindberg L-700 trucks & it did not show the part in there instruction sheets . I just finished it without using that part.
stavanzer Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 Yeah, but I want that kit. I've never had it. Now, if they'd just give us the tanker.
Dave Van Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 (edited) My slightly modified 'shorty' version of the IMC trailer. Simple but nice for a little variety..... Just noticed that this thread goes back pretty far......a different angle Edited July 17, 2019 by Dave Van

maxwell48098 Posted July 20, 2019 Posted July 20, 2019 I used half of one of those van trailers and put it on a stretched Dodge L700 chassis. A.J. 1
stavanzer Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 I hope HPI Guy gets one. His review will be the decision maker on whether I buy one or not.

Weather he does or not....... the kit is very generic. The running lights and tread plate bumper on my shorty were added by myself. Detail is simple but decent. I like the kit for it's flexibility and just something different. I say the kit is a great starting point.
Luc Janssens Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 More power to those who like this kit, but to me it's too toy like, do have a build IMC tanker trailer, I bought soly with the intention to use it as a base for a Ford C-series tanker truck, project 1000+ on my in my head to do list
