Dave, Darryl and Greg... Thank you all for the kind words of encouragement. I agree it is a daunting task, and being a detail nut is my nemesis.. :D Once I get into this block and get it finished, the big decision of how it will be displayed will be the big question. lol "IN or OUT" of the car will be the big dilemma.

Ok Joe.... you are talking nonsense... that would be to logical! :D

Dave, I appreciate your assistance as I limp through this process asking you questions to better understand how a BAE Block is actually built... You realize all the questions that I have already asked it would be x2 right? LOL   don't start blocking my emails...

Just a small update that I have been working on. Very close to finishing up the back of the block, just need to open up the Crank opening and put the studs in and it will be finished out back. Thank goodness. Man "Macro" makes it look much rougher than it actually is with the naked eye.

Here is one side of the block to show the front of the lower portion where the bellhousing meets up with the block. I had to taper that small section with the milled out holes.

Oh, gee whiz. That's nearly unreal. Cast it up in aluminum with some cylinders, then get to work on the pistons! I wanta hear it run...

Scott, if I cast one up then it wouldn't be true to the 1:1 BAE.... lol... I would have to machine it out of a hunk of aluminum. :D

Dave, Tyrone, Darryl, I really appreciate the comments, as these are what makes me strive to do better with each attempt at the details! So Thank you all!

I am still contemplating on how I want to display this motor. More and More I am thinking of having the Lenco bolted up to the Chassis and the Mid plate and the Motor pulled out with all the plumbing attached with wires sort of hanging lose on the chassis like the was pulled out last minute for the next qualifying round for another block to go in. But I haven't completely decided yet.

I think you should, especially with all that detail on the engine, keep up the great work Bart....

I have a little update for everyone... been working on the front of the block. All roughed in with water jackets distributor access hole and internals. Just need to do the crank portion and the removable bottom end caps.

Sorry for the crappy pics, using a 6K florescent bulb lamp and it is throwing my camera off. Need to take some daylight pics. But with the crappy weather here in Kansas, it may be awhile before that happens.

Bart... Your skills are amazing me man. That block is gorgeous. nice work. I think I have to agree with the others on here that you need to display this bad boy outside of the car

Man Bart, this thing is off the hook. Any plans on casting this? I'd be first in line if you do. Awesome work.

Thanks Brad for the complement! I don't know the first thing about casting things. But I would venture to say with all the holes and such, this block would be very difficult to cast. It would be nice to cast it, I wouldn't have to work as hard the second time around trying to build another one.

Well, I keep waiting to be blown away...lol. Man, that is just incredible!!

Great job Bart, great!!

Thanks Jeff, I really appreciate the complement.... well I guess I will just have to do better next time. :D Maybe when I get to the timing gears and the flywheel and 11" Billet Clutch assembly... that will tickle your fancy! LOL

Chris, Brad Joe.... I appreciate you stopping in and taking a gander, it sounds like you all approve of the progress.

Jim, I think you are on a close pace with what I am thinking. I am seriously thinking of putting it on a engine block rolling stand, with all the hoses hanging down.. but we will see. I would like to have it so that you could actually pick it up and put it into the car, and just connect a few hoses and it would look finished... but maybe I am dealing with the wrong scale.

WHAT?! I thought, 1:1 cars are not allowed here...

That's really great looking engine, so realistic. I can't say more, this is just amazing work.

That is just such amazing detail that I can hardly believe it. I'm not sure words really do justice to describe your level of building on this project. I always look forward to seeing what you've gotten done on it...

Oh my......

Hey, Bart has a shrink ray gun.............. :oNo wait......nah, he's just given his real motor a coat of white paint.

Bart, this is astounding.....some of the best fab work I have seen in a good while mate. I LOVE it................

Now, may I order one in 1/12 please. :P

Keep chipping at it bro, this will be a fine piece when she's done and dusted. ;)

Rick, Robert, Greg, Scott, Niko... I really appreciate you stopping in and checking out the updates and the words of encouragement! Because I know I have bitten off a pretty big bite, in my plans to accomplish a detailed engine block.

My plan is to get some more updates for everyone this week, since I am on PTO this week. So I am hoping to have more updates either on the block or the Chassis, we shall see. :)
