I hope its the Custom- Custom 300 variant (they already have the 166" wheelbase chassis from the Ranchero). I see a lot of vintage stock cars, and maybe they'll give us the stock Paxton blower setup. AMT's '57 has the blower, but its configured for the T- Bird.

I doubt if they would use any parts from the old Ranchero kit...I would assume this is an all-new tool.

I agree - a '57 two door sedan of ANY model would be great!!!! I am not a huge fan of the '50 Olds but I really appreciate the '57 Fords. There is a green and white fairlane 500 two door hardtop for sale near where I live and I looked at it the other day. Sure is purdy!!!!! But it's 'wayyyyy too much money for what the car is and it's the wrong clours for me. This car could be driven daily but I know just enough about old cars and old body filler and boay men who really should have been sculptors to know that that car would a huge project one you got into it with sandpaper and a grinder. It has some issues that are downright scarey but to someone who doesn't know.. it looks not too bad. But back to models - I have been looking at resin '57 sedans but I'll wait and see what Revell does. Like it has been said though, I'll believe it when I see it. :)

Has anybody realized that Revell AG just released the 1955 300SLR Uhlenhaut Coupe?

It's nice, it's detailed, it's on the shelves, and it's affordable.

But no matter what Revell does, they just can't win.

Very nice kit...I got it and the SLS AMG kit for my birthday a couple months ago.

Could you please do a review?

I haven't built it yet...just opened it and looked at the parts. I believe it's a reissue of a kit from the '80s or '90s..

See, I even missed it the first time around. Still, can you show us the kit in the kit review section, please?

I wonder if the '57 Ford will be the VIctoria, or the Custom 300 sedan? Like Ed said, I'll believe it when I see it!

Bill, if I recall Ford's nomenclature correctly the Custom and Custom 300's were

called "Tudor" and "Fordor" while the Fairlane / 500's were "Club Coupes" and

"Club Sedans".

One well known modeler said in the same thread; "..... one of the major kit manufacturers,

and I'm pretty sure we're all going to be pleasantly surprised. This manufacturer is really

quite serious about doing things right."

A supercharged 312 we have already. But aren't those announced kits both a perfect base for vintage NASCARs? And the 50 Olds a perfect base for Hershel McGriff's Panamericana entry?

Regarding Revell and Oldsmobile subjects... I'll believe it when one lands on my workbench and not a minute before. <_<

Ditto on the '57 Ford Sedan, come to think of it. I'd love to have both, but given Revell's new product time table, if they're announcing them now they likely won't be here until mid 2014 or so.

While I can certainly share the frustration with Revell's release schedule or rather their lack of adherence to it on some subjects, I don't see where they've canceled any projects in the past 12 months (other than perhaps the U.S. box version of the M-B AMG SLS, which was still available in a RoG box if you were willing to pay the premium price). The much debated and delayed '48 Ford Custom is finally on the website as a September release.

I think the question that has to be asked is really do you want it fast, or do you want it more or less correct? (There's never going to be a kit that's perfect in 100% of the eyes that view it) The '48 is a good example of a kit they were having tooling issues with, and the delayed and fiddeled, and while the subject isn't something I plan on getting, I am happy to see Revell taking the attitude of producing kits with some modicum of quality to them, rather than just running things off as quickly and sloppily as possible.

That said where's the 2010 Camaro SS?

Guess it would boil down to 'how good is the kit and how long was the wait between its announcement and introduction dates', weighed against 'how much I wanted the kit in the first place'. In the case of the '48 being a custom, who's to say what is 'correct', but I do see your point, and am kind of slapping myself for not considering that aspect earlier.
