I'm hooked for two, a custom and a drag version. I had two friends in high school that both had '41's. One was a coupe the other brother had a two door sedan. Of course neither one was chopped. Both of these cars were hot rods. The coupe had a hot '48 Merc and we tended to the hot rod business on the two door with a dual carb manifold and a couple of 97's I dug out of a box in my garage.

Once I figure out how much the top is chopped, I plan to section at least that amount out of the body, run the fadeaway fender panels, and make up my own fender skirts. But that won't be until AFTER I've chopped up a couple of Hudsons! B)

If the tops been chopped, I doubt I'll buy one, You wouldn't be able to build it stock or mild custom and it probably doesn't have the stock rims and caps, so for me, it's pretty much useless.

The first will be a pro street , the second will be a drag car . I even know what color they'll be done in !

Come to think of it , how twisted is that . Bad enough to know how you're going to build a kit that hasn't even been released yet , but to know what color they're going to be ?

I definitely need help !! Lol !

Purchased the 48 yesterday. I am glad I don't have a bias against subjects because this is a very nice kit. Lots of great parts and possibilities right from the box. As Ken stated, I think the back end could be dropped - but I will probably build out of the box on this one and concentrate on getting a smooth paint job on all the beautiful curves.

I will probably end up buying about a dozen of these and have several diffeserent ways to build them . With the chop done already that saves me some work already. I do hope that they do come out with a stock version as well and will probably buy a dozen of those as well. I know some will be 50's and 60's style customs and will also build some ina modern style street rod.

Buy one and drop one of Jerry Koszut's tudor bodies on it so I have a stock car.

As for that Olds grille.....I'm seriously toying with grabbing another Galaxie Aerosedan and converting that into an Olds 66. All I'll need aside from interior bits and pieces is a big flathead 6 and Hydra-Matic.

Finally got mine yesterday from my local Hobbytown. My plans are leaning towards a lowered 40's custom with fadeaway fenders, fender skirts, and big whitewalls. Then I'll have to buy another one later to do a custom sedan.:)

I will probably buy several of them just for the parts, as chopped 40's coupes aren't my thing, but I may build one using the custom parts in the coupe and the convertible body from a few years ago.

I intend to build a Convertible using the fender fadeaways and one of the custom grilles from the new kit. I've always wanted to try the Carson style top on the Pro-Modeler version of the convertible , but I never liked the modern custom parts in that kit. Presuming I finish that in a reasonable amount of time , I'll probably just build the chopped coup with whichever parts are left.

First needs to get one, and that will be Custom. OLD SCHOOL Custom, no anything modern. And then later maybe one would be nice to build like Gasser, but I'm not sure about that yet, because it has chopped top, maybe it just don't fit to Gasser...
