CorvairJim Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Somewhere, there's a 'Full Classic' car nut screaming like a little girl! Love it. "Full Classic car nut" - Yes. "Screaming like a little girl" - No. Even if this were a 1:1 car, I figure if a guy holds the title to it, he's free to do whatever he wants with it, even if it obliterates it's value! This model is outrageously cool. It's great that he can build in plastic what no sane car buff would build on an original million dollar + car (assuming the original was even in restorable condition). I was at an NSRA show in York, PA a few years ago, and there were, by my count, five "Full Classics" there that had been rodded. In talking to the owners of three of them, they were all pretty badly gone when they first bought them (one was given to the owner!), so the way I look at it, rodding them saved them from just slowly rotting away to nothing.
Dr. Cranky Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Oh yeah, that's it, that's the perfect look. Another amazing model. The talent on this board is just first-rate! Keep up the great styrene addiction!
Nitrozilla Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Everybody beat me to the really kewl remarks !! I gotta tell you when I saw first looked at the pics, the first thing to grab my brain and spin it around a time or two was the grill. Incredible build.
krazyglu Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 OK now this is cool you did a fantastic job and way to think outside the box. Your paint work is amazing to say the least....just everything about this kit is perfect. I love the black on the tips of the headers and the chute detail. Thank you for sharing.
sjordan2 Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 (edited) Somewhere, there's a 'Full Classic' car nut screaming like a little girl! Love it. EEEEK! Sacrilege! But cool sacrilege, with awesome paint and detail. I was wondering when someone would see the rod potential of this kit. (I would have put a 32 Ford grille on it.) Dave42 Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Beautiful paint, super detailing, and I just tried to do to my pipes what you did here...fail! I have to know how you did that...it looks great!
sjordan2 Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 Which technique did you use for darkening the panel lines? Did you do it before or after painting?
