So, this year so far, has been a bit strange in the building department. I usually plan out a lot of builds ahead of time and go about getting them done. But this year I just seem to be all over the place. Multiple builds going at the same time, and A lot of existing builds from years past that I simply wasn't happy with the results so I decided to start over.

This is my version of the venerable Beer Wagon that I created a few years back. I cut away the back half of the chassis/flatbed area and kitbashed a Ford Cosworth engine combination from a Tamiya Formula One kit. I then scratchbuilt a new chassis and flatbed setup using styrene and real wood. I took the cab and extended it into an extra cab look and then threw on a simple fron suspension, paint and decals. I liked the overall look but over time I grew weary of the paint work and graphics. And, once I decided to pull some of it apart and try again I decided to m ake some other changes as well.

Here is what it originally looked like.

Now, this is what I am converting this one into. New paint and graphics, porthole windows for the sides. I also removed the wooden bed rails, sanded them down and repainted with a better weathering job as the first attempt looked a little thick in detail. I decided to go with different tires and JPS aluminum wheels. The graphics are a mixture of Slixx and homemade logos.

The latest addition is working on a windshield frame.

Here's where I am at so far.

Real nice job Wayne where did the motor come from.

John Pol

The engine came from a Tamiya F1 kit. If I recall it was from a builtup of a JPS (Johnny Player Special) kit. Rather ironic that I used an engine from that kit and now I am also using wheels from JPS.

Whoa.....................too cool. Wayne you never do WIP threads so you always totally shock me when you have something new. Looks fantastic.

O.K., so I've completed more of this to the point that it's almost finished. The interior is done along with the front suspension. All tires and wheels are attached. The rear bulkhead is in place and I used tinted clear plastic for the porthole windows.

The only remaining details are headlights, windshield and fuel tanks along with some small minor little touches and this one can be called complete.

So I'm minding my own business, not hurting anyone, cruisin' thru the Workbench section, I click on this "Beerwagon" thingie and next thing ya' know, I'm lying flat on my face with tire treads across my back !! Big wide ones too !! Did anybody get the license ??

Wayne........................................never mind..........words can't express how cool that is.................see ?? I used words and it's still cooler than that.

Wow that is one seriously sweet "beer wagon!!" I have to wonder though, would the beer have enough time to get nice and cold before your wagon gets to its delivery locale? Lol

Well, now. That's a whole lot more interesting than any other 'Beer Wagon' build I've ever seen before!

Good job, Wayne.
