Sam Cates Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 After the first body melted like a black crayon, I snagged the body from the onther Stude I had to finish this build up. Used '99 Camaro seats, intake, wheels and tires from '49 Merc, added plug wires.
Chuck Most Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Nice save. The paint scheme, the side pipes, the wheels- just looks perfect on that body.
High octane Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 That "Stude" looks great and I really like the two-tone paint on it.
Dominik Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Wow - what a lowered body and stand! cool Stude!
mytricia Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 the best word to describe it-"S M O O T H----V E R Y S M O O T H!!
Skydime Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Good looking Stude. I think it came out great. If I may suggest, it might even look like a cooler sled if you add some skirts in the back as well.
Harry P. Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 In case you're wondering what that would look like...
Danno Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 (edited) Very nice! Edited October 24, 2011 by Danno
Skydime Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 (edited) Thanks, Harry, for the illustration. Say that does look more sleddish! But I still think it looks slick either way. Edited October 24, 2011 by Skydime
Sam Cates Posted October 25, 2011 Author Posted October 25, 2011 I am actually working on a piar of skirts for it now, I had a pair made up for the first body, but, most of us saw what happened to the first body...
charlie8575 Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 I missed what happened to the first body, Sam, but I've been there, so I understand what you're saying. Great execution on this. Charlie Larkin
Sam Cates Posted October 25, 2011 Author Posted October 25, 2011 This is the body I started with, had it in primer, set it on the heater so the heat from the pilot light would help the paint dry and my son turned the thermostat up before I woke up the next morning...
Modelmartin Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Looks better without the Skirts. In fact, it looks real good.
Sam Cates Posted October 25, 2011 Author Posted October 25, 2011 Thanks to everyone for the positive feedback, I wasn't so sure about this build. Thanks Harry for the photo and inspiration for the skirt style.
Draggon Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 NIce and smooth, and better with no skirts. Those chrome rims work great on this! I dig it!
Tom Setzer Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 That is a BEAUTIFUL STUD CUSTOM!! The body work and paint are truly outstanding! CHEERS! Tom
Mr Dedo Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 Whoa! Great ideas-found a pair of these kits to use the engines in another project. Time to play with the bodies...
