This model depicts the car Curtis Turner won the 1956 Southern 500 in. AMT kit,Tamiya paint, side moldings changed to Customline trim, many scratchbuilt parts, and home made inkjet decals. 84.5 hours to complete the build.

 

Im trying to go back and fix the links photobucket killed so here are 3 of this one.

Very nice model, Mark! I really enjoy seeing some of the old "Dark Side" Nascar builds. They are a bit before my time but I always find them interesting. Your '56 is very clean and bright!

WooHoo, this looks very good. I like the paintjob very much, shiny and smooth. Decals fit very nicely, and great job with that side trim. I like the stance, great job with it. Wheels and tires are great also. Really beautiful NASCAR racer, I'd like to build one older Nascar from the 40's or 50's. Maybe early 60's too.

Nice job. Love the "old" racers. Yours looks awesome. As a side note, I live in Roanoke, Va, where Curtis was from. Never met him though.
