cruz Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Hope you guys like it. I was originally thinking about lowering it more but thought that it was better to do it the way a 1950's car guy would have done his, specially with the hopped up engine in it!!! I still did had to lower it a bit more from the front since it was a tad too high. Hosted on FotkiHosted on FotkiHosted on FotkiHosted on FotkiHosted on Fotki

sjordan2 Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 I wish I could come up with a better word than "spectacular."
The Creative Explorer Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 I love this build, it is quite good handmanship. It is cleanly build too. Basically because of that, I noticed a few things and Marcos, I hope you don't take it the wrong way. But I do miss detailling on the battery and the hood. The battery seems to be one-color black, where it has usually the metal connectors and the maintenance caps, together with some wiring and I miss the hood-hinges and the latch on the front. Other than that it is a very nice kit. Is this the Lindberg one?
Greg Pugh Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Aaaaaahhhhhh........... That baby is gorgeous! I LOVE it!!
Dr. Cranky Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Gorgeous paint, and the details make this one into an instant classic build. Beautiful. Congratulations.
jjsipes Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Wow. I have been following your build thread here and it has inspired me to do one myself but it will turn out to be for my wife's grandfather instead. This looks awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Jantrix Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 That's just perfect. I love it. Marvelous job.
outlaw035 Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 grt8 build...put it on blacktop and it would look like a real car.......
Harry P. Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 That is just freakin' gorgeous! As usual, your paint is flawless. What's your technique? I bet a lot of members here would like to know how you got that finish.
Badluck 13 Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 You should be ashamed of yourself!!!!!!!!!!!,posting pics of a 1:1 car an trying to pass it off as a model!!!! .....jusssssss kiddin,I can't think of any words to justify the work you have done.....that thing is beyond words!!!!!!!......
sjordan2 Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 (edited) For anyone who missed it, here's the On the Workbench thread, which should add even more to your appreciation. There's some discussion about the paint on page 3. (Amazingly, it started out as flat red Testors enamel from the small bottles.) http://www.modelcars...opic=48379&st=0 Edited November 14, 2011 by sjordan2
RichCostello Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Marcos,it came out just like I knew it would......PERFECT!!!
LAone Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 that looks tough. the wheels give a hint of "not stock" and that paint job is just beautiful.
Harry P. Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Marcos, you said that you use polishing compound on the foil to shine it up. Do you find that after a while the foil oxidizes and turns dull? Do you put any clear over the foil trim after you polish it?
ewaskew Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Very nice and clean and the paint look's reeeeeal good. Great job.
cruz Posted November 14, 2011 Author Posted November 14, 2011 Marcos, you said that you use polishing compound on the foil to shine it up. Do you find that after a while the foil oxidizes and turns dull? Do you put any clear over the foil trim after you polish it? Thank you for all your replies fellas, I truly appreciate it! Harry, I've never had any issues with the foil oxidizing but if that were the case, you can get away with putting a coat of Future shine over it. You also mentioned and wanted to know how I get my finishes to look like this, I will answer that later, right now I am responding to this thread from my cell phone and it's quite a hassle to try to achieve this.
Sinister_Kreationz Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 simply put " shes a beauty" very nice build
Nate Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 So nice! The detail in the engine bay is just amazing, as is the detail painting/ weathering on the chassis. Nicely done!
krazyglu Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 This is a outstanding model kit. It looks very real in those pictures. Paint is perfect and hopefully with enough practice and screw ups I can make mine look as good.
