... this model was constructed for a club '57 Chevy build ....... rather than build the usual gasser, hotrod, or custom, I chose to replicate an original from the day ... As a youngster I worked in a large Texaco station and saw quite a few of these 150 utility sedans (in fact my dad's company supplied a couple of his adjuster's these cars) ....... and I never saw one with a V-8 ..... I knew the V-8's were offered but I never saw one

The build is from a Revell Black Widow kit and was modified to hold a 235 cu.in. Blue Flame 6-cylinder from Ron Royston at Early Years Resin

Great build and I love the fact that you made something a bit different. The 6 is a nice touch and the color combo is perfect. This kit builds up nicely no matter what direction you choose.

Corrected the decals ........ was pointed out to me that I forgot to remove the "V" on the hood and trunk ........ that "V" designates a V-8 car

Very nice, John! I like those cars built stock, looking like an everyday car from the mid-50's. I built mine stock, too. I wished the kit had included a 6 cylinder engine too. Here's my 57 model built two years ago.

Very cool 150, John. I really like your build! Another thing different between the V8s and the sixes (and I'm surprized it didn't give you some trouble, is that the radiator on 55-57 Chevys on the six cylinder cars is mounted in front of the core support, as opposed to behind on the V8s. This one isn't 100 percent stock, but it illustrates the stock mounting location and why it's necessary.

Very nice. As mentioned, a car with a different color is really nice to see. You have to love the plain janes...

Um, by the way, and this nit does not reflect the build, but as a license plate collector...Texas uses front and rear plates... :P

Very nice... Steel wheels, inline six, basic trim package... a modest 'working mans' car... I love it! I really enjoy seeing builds like this, out of the mainstream, unmolested, no billet, no bling but a basic, nice, clean driver... a survivor.

I'd be more than proud to own, drive and show the 1:1 version. B)

How right you are ......... and as a native Texan I should have remembered that .......... have spent too many years in "one-plate" states (New Mexico, North Carolina, etc) .......... I'll see what I can do to remedy my mistake :D:blink::D

Corrected :) .......... and yes, I know the registration stickers would only be on the back plate, but I can't change the decals :)

I don't think I've ever learned so much from a thread: I had always thought the V was decorative and I never knew the six-cylinder had a different radiator placement. :)
