Greg Myers Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 I've heard there may be a coupe coming from Galaxie ltd .
Dr. Cranky Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 That would be fantastic. Galaxie puts out great products. They are not as prolific as other companies, but those kits have nothing envy Tamiya et al.
Chuck Most Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 A coupe version of the '48 Chev? Or something a bit more out of the blue...?
Greg Myers Posted December 7, 2011 Author Posted December 7, 2011 A coupe version of the '48 Chev? Or something a bit more out of the blue...? Well, I guess they are known for their '46-48 Chevys . . .
henry57 Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 Wow, I hope its the 48 Chevy I have a real 48 Chevy business coupe and would love to build a model
tim boyd Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 When Gary originally did the '48, he had it engineered in such a way that it could be used as the basis for a '41 at a later point in time, from what I recall. So....if that coupe is on the horizon, wouldn't it be killer if it was a '41 instead of a '48? (The '41 Chevy was probably the single most beautiful pre- WWII Chevy of all time, at least in my humble opinion.....TIM
Art Anderson Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 I've known about the forthcoming coupe from Galaxie Ltd for months now. Yes, it is coming. Art
Greg Myers Posted December 8, 2011 Author Posted December 8, 2011 Thanks for sharing that with the rest of us.
mikemodeler Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Art, Can you tell us what model year the coupe will be? I would love a '41 Chebby Coupe!
Erik Smith Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Honestly? I could care less what year. As long as the kit is as nice as the '48, I am in!
whale392 Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 I would say Art is just guessing, much like the rest of 'us' here. We have all heard the rumblings, and are wondering what they are up to. Well, Art, care to clue the class in? In Drag Racing, this is what's known as 'Put up or shut up'.

(check Arts credentials...they speak for themselves.)
whale392 Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 I know Arts 'Credentials', that is why I made the comment, thank you. Now, as stated..............................................
Greg Myers Posted December 8, 2011 Author Posted December 8, 2011 (edited) I know Arts 'Credentials', that is why I made the comment, thank you. Now, as stated.............................................. Other boards are full of this stuff. If we can't share information here what's the use in posting . especially the "Na, na, na, I know a secret" kind of stuff? Now for the " I can't tell you because the manufactures have sworn me to secrecy excuse." it gets old. "(Check Arts credentials... they speak for themselves.)" then let Art speak. crazyjim Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 (edited) If that blue coupe is a '41 Chevy, then I'd like to get the kit. I don't know Art's credentials. Where would I look? Edited December 8, 2011 by crazyjim

I know the designer of the Galaxie '48 Chevy kits pretty well (and he was the designer of the legendary Aurora Racing Scenes in the 1970's, and then headed up product development at MPC from 1977 until MPC was sold to Ertl in 1986, then opening his own design firm mostly devoted to high-end diecast models, including NHRA Top Fuel dragsters and dragracing motorcycles. He's been supplying me with tidbits of info on the Galaxie Chevy coupe for better than a year now--and the guy is most credible. Art
LAone Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 well ill be waiting for this as well. i bought the sedan delivery when i first came out. i still have it, never finished it though. i will some day...
Rob Hall Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 (edited) Interesting that it's taken them so long to follow up to the two 48 Chevy kits..those came out, what, 15 years ago? Edited December 8, 2011 by Rob Hall
The Modeling Hermit Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 I'm hoping that this is going to happen. I loved the 46-48 Chevy coupes and owned a 48. Those three years were the best looking of that body style.

Chuck Most Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Never had a Galaxie kit. They any good? No. More like 'great'. My only misgiving about the Aerosedan and Sedan Delivery is they aren't Fords. (Right, Mike? )
