Thanks for the kudos fellas. much appreciated. I was able to make the U-bolts and brackets to hold the front axle to the leaf springs. No picture though. I take some tonight.

I used pieces of wire that were in holiday ribbon. They are great to work with, come in different sizes and hold their shape. This is the season to keep all of them after they've been used and keep any scraps.

Thanks brother. I'll do my best with getting some pictures up. tonight, at least by tomorrow morning.

I also may have a source for small hardware to replace the stuff Scale Hardware carried. Stay tuned.

OK, here's some photos of the U bolts with brackets. Still need to add the actual nuts and am going to wait on those to see if my local source comes through.

Here's a few pictures.

Thanks for checking in. Comments welcome.

There are so many great things about this build. I keep on seeing so many things I want to attempt. One comment, it seems like every retail piece has a nut, the u-bolts need their nuts.

Yes they do Mike. I've been told of a local shop that may have the very small hardware I used to get at Scale Hardware which closed down. Problem is he's only open the same hours I work and not on the weekend.

Brad... that front end is looking great.those U-Bolts are awesome. I can't wait to hear more about the local source for the small hardware. You will have to keep me posted on it.

Man, I gotta get back to the bench and finish this up. Once again I have been having serious back issues. Seems it comes once a year around this time but this time has been over a month. The worst pain I've felt and completely debilitating. Doing much better now but still not 100% but enough to get some bench time in finally.

Sorry to hear about the bad back Brad. Had a disc out when I was 20. You're oh so right how painful it can be. btw, I didn't forget you. Those cut-off discs I sourced from a company called Rio Grande. They specialize in the jewelry trade. I find a lot of helpful tools in their catalog. cheers, tim

Thanks for the info about Rio Grande. They sure have a variety of cool stuff. I'll be placing an order soon.

Got a couple of coats of primer and then a final coat of flat red on the body and truck bed. No pictures at this time, maybe tonight. Still drying.

I hear ya' Brad. The last thing I'd ever do is take a picture while the paint's still wet.

The elf on the shelf need to pay a visit?

What? So he can take the pictures? Its not the taking of pictures, its getting them transferred to the computer and resized that takes so long.

I'll get it done, at least the picture taking.

Ok, finally some time to take a couple of pics of this build along with a few others, more on that later.

Keep in mind this is a flat paint and I'm going to add a bit of weathering and one of the fenders and a door will get some red oxide primer. That's the plan anyway.
