There's been plenty of posting going...why in the past 24-36 hours

- I've re-learned what the NNL stands for, for the 10,000th time

- Found out what it means when a forum topic is locked

- Watched as people's apologies were questioned in sincerity and purpose

- Saw people's real names and identities investigated by crack forum pot stirrers

- Witnessed a former moderator break 2 of the 4 rules here and not get banned

- Saw a topic with "?" as a title to find out it was disappointingly NOT a missive from the Riddler to Batman but rather how to ship a "life size" bench seat through Craigslist.

- Celebrated Virgil's ability to post more in 90 days than the rest of us combined will in our lifetimes

- Pondered how much I should bill Gregg if I'm going to shill to get MCM onto newsstands, since that seems to be the job of...well Gregg and/or Golden Bell

With this much top notch, high quality, edge of your seat entertainment going on, who has time to build anything, let alone post about it?

Yes, just the same ol', ol' drama on the MCM forums....nothing new. February has been a quiet month for new kit releases, at least compared to Dec/Jan...maybe things will pick up in time...

Just ask questions about the General Lee and see what happens.

NO not that again good grief that was too much!

But seriously though hopefully folks are building!!

Building? OMG, Imagine that . The thought. We are model builders? I thought our purpose was to come on this forum and spend numerous hours reading postings and contributing to, in some cases, senseless tripe.

Also, there isn't much need to post some things, like questions that newbies (myself included) have for the older forum members. A lot of times they are told that their questions can be answered with a simple google search, which is very true. Just yesterday I searched how to make a Mexican blanket, and search results provided a link to this very forum with a couple tutorials on the subject.

This is the type thing that would be nice if you shared with the rest of us.Thus keeping up the post count.

i could mention that i just got the Audi R8 Spyder kit, but i don't think 98% of the posters here would care. so far looking over the parts in the box and the instruction sheet, it looks like a pretty sweet kit...............................

Did you mean could care less? I can respect that. You have your likes and I have mine. We both, I believe respect that. I can live with that.

I think the moderators do a good job trying to "keep the peace" here, but I do believe that they really shouldn't have to work so hard to try to do that because, as adults, those of us who post stuff on this Forum, should have the common sense to NOT play childish games like name-calling, pot stirring, bullying, egging-on and making sarcastic comments. This Forum is here for the enjoyment and furthering of our Hobby, not for childish antics, one-upsmanship and mind games.

Amen!

Boy, do I wish the troublemakers and pot stirrers would read this and have it sink in!

slowly but surely the interest in posting here is disappearing.

some of the best builders in this hobby have left and either found other forums to post on, or just quit the online thing altogether

You see the same thing at any site you can go to! People come people go and most of the time it has little to do with what is going on on the site!

Change of interests, just too busy to go online and they do less and less until they just stop.

I'm talking people who were founding members of sites!

Nothing out of the ordinary about it at all!

Dave Z, I couldn't find your original post about all these people leaving, but do you have figures and evidence on this?

Life is all about cycles, things come and go, the Internet and how often people post on forums is no different, some of the other forums , some not model related, people stop posting, or leave and times posting does slow down.

Not everyone is glued to the computer all time through out the year, now that we are getting closer to spring, or in my case here in Phoenix , summer time already, the weather is nice, time to do things outside that you couldn't do during the winter time.

I am sure there are other reason why some members on here have stopped posting .

Yeah, That would be great, wouldn't it?

I made a VERY inappropriate post last eve. I thought I was being humorous. I missed BIG time. I realized after re-reading it, it sounded instigating Not my intent! Luckily for me it was deleted quickly. Thanks Harry!.. & sorry everyone that was offended!

there are some good build topics going on but.

there have been a lot of posts just showing a painted body lately .and I really don't think there is much to say about that.

I know Doc crankys done a few lately to show the results of the yost method.. in that case It's understandable

but I just don't get excited to see thread after thread started with a photo of a painted body .It seems to be a trend here.. heck I can do that in 30 minutes

or a body(painted or not) precariously perched on top of some wheels. I can do that in 30 seconds.

I want to see... and learn from.... some in depth model building. !

even if it's a lawn tractor

If its the thread I am thinking of, its not that it was offensive, all it was going to do was start a all out war in that thread, I think if it was worded a little differently it would been ok

There have been a lot of threads being started lately in the workbench section with some one saying that they are going to do this or that to a build, no pics, and thats it. Or same as above with maybe a pic of a mock up and then maybe a few words.

There has to be content being posted that makes everyone what to post replys to, and lately there really hasn't been alot of stuff really worthy of replies.

I have notice a lot it is from newer members that have joined, not saying anything against them, they haven't got the hang of things here yet, or figured out what or when to post things .
