Got this one a while back. Body was a short shot, really wanted to build the telephone truck but the ladders and rack were missing. Looks to be a complete telephone booth but I think most of the cycle is missing. Not sure about the phone as I haven't checked yet. Have a LRW kit for the body just haven't got around to it yet.

Terry.... I need the decals..all phone company related parts from one of these kits...love to have the box I like old boxes.  I had a unbuilt sealed kit of it but the storm here took it and damaged my old build up...tiring to restore the old build up if anyone can help me..?   This is such a cool old kit shame round2 would bring it back out for us all.

Back when I built my LRW,  I bought an unbuilt kit of this one to use. going on 15 plus years ago now I guess ( this was way before any LRW re-issue and it was considerably cheaper than any issue of the LRW I could find )

 

I sold the box and decals on ebay and they brought nearly what I paid for the complete kit. I dont remember what happened to the phone co. parts

I assume almost everyone has at least one set of the oxy/acetylene tank halves from the AMT '53 Ford pickup in their spare parts bin, too, most likely with the gauges broken off?

Seeing all that AMT stuff in Casey's post above jogged my memory.  Some of the old AMT 3-in-1 kits included a TV set. If you have one of those TVs, look at it closely. You might see Alfred Hitchcock's profile on the screen. His "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" was a very popular TV show in the early Sixties, and I always thought it was neat that AMT paid homage to it.

Casey, I think the context you're providing is invaluable. I had no idea so many custom pieces were thrown into one kit and showing the instructions with the parts called out really cuts down on speculation of where something came from.

I was just recently looking thru a "Boss Nova," the last re-issue of the '63 Chevy II wagon as a funny car.  The following extras are still in that version: chrome tape recorder, fire extinguisher, helmet\face mask, oil and gas cans, torque wrench, tool box and parachute.

Posting this in full size so you can appreciate the VAN-tastic 1970's goodness of these MPC kits.  Geegaws galore.  A sink!  Pillows for the couch! A TV!  Check out the cutaway drawing on the upper right side of the box-top. 

MPC released a baffling variety of Dodge vans back then, most with some variation of this basic interior.  They all seemed to have those goofy "shingle" side panels on the interior.  Or maybe those aren't shingles. Maybe that's sound insulation, and this was really meant to be a Serial-Killer Van in disguise...

I love the AMT animal mascots. The animals were on separate sprues and appeared In different kits. For instance I found the squirrels in the 63 and 64 Valiant kits. My alligator came in the 57 Chevy and the floppy dog in the 57 Ford. I like to include them in my old custom restorations since they are very period.

I need a MPC Dodge van that body style...71 to 76? to make a replica of one I once owned.  It was a factory custom..thinking a Goodtimes Conversion if I remember right.  Mine was a 75 but any the right body style would work I think.   back when I was a kid I tried to get my hands on any of the MPC Dodge van kits I could they were great kits with lots of building version options.

I, like several others here, love all of the different accessories found in kits over the years. Even though I rarely use them with any of them with my builds. That said, I could not pass up on buying these two last night. Two boxes full of "geegaws" I may never find a real use for. But, I had to have them. I love it!

Not sure when the earliest geegaws appeared, but the AMT 1961 Ford Starliner include a tape recorder and a chrome plated brake drum and jackstand:

 

The same(?) brake drum and jackstand seems to be included in (all of) the AMT 1961 annual kits.

I think the above may actually be a record player, maybe for 45s? Maybe a case of odd luck, but both the baby gator and record player (and a telephone) were included in the AMT 1964 Mercury Park Lane Convertible kit:
