jerseyjunker1 Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 to this. this was an ertl 1 1/18 scale 1969 plymouth roadrunner. with real deep pockets it could be saved from the crusher.lol
george 53 Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 This is so well done it hurts to look at it! Man, it would take some bucks ta fix it up, but it'd HAVE ta be a labor of love. I like the headlight moulding brackets left on the radiator support. NICE job!
Chuck Most Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Nah- just find a rust-free Satellite and throw a few Road Runner bits on it. Then sell it for a premium. Again, very nicely done.
roadhawg Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 I'm with George, it actually hurts to look at it, it's so realistic! Love the hanging weatherstripping!
Dr. Cranky Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 You sure did put this one through the wringer. I like it, in particular all the busted up glass. Lots of details to look at. Very nice.
Hoosierfarmboy Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 I like the realism created by the detail on this model and the setting it's shown in. Good job.
polandmob Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 hard to look at. but i would still take it! lol great build
iBorg Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 If I catch you kids in my backyard again, I'll call the police! Nice job on creating a great piece of junk. Amazing how hard it is to make something look so used up.
diymirage Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 If I catch you kids in my backyard again, I'll call the police! call the police ? where im from they just shoot some rock salt your way
Jon Cole Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 REAL sharp job! I think that's the first time I have seen hanging weatherstrip on a model!
cobraman Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 I really like what you did to the glass. How did you do it ?
Sixties Sam Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 I agree, it hurts to look at it, but that's a compliment. Great work! The upholstery foam and weatherstripping are great touches! Sam
kruleworld Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 That's quite a convincing patina and i like the touches like the sagging roof liner and hanging out side marker.
raymanz Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Great job, digg'n the weather stripping and the headliner hanging down is great. The weathering job is right on the spot, not over stated. Very well done,my hats off to ya!!
jerseyjunker1 Posted March 16, 2012 Author Posted March 16, 2012 thanks for all the praise guys. as for the glass i mix real glass with the plastic glass on curved windshields. i use i believe it is 0007 thickness glass just thicker than a piece of paper. i then laminate the glass which allows me to break it any way i want then using a dremel with a grinding stone grind the edges to blend in. and thats it.
