Greg Myers Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 (edited) Yeah, I know these haveall been reissued many times. I'm talkin' about an original reissue like the Blue Beetle. Edited April 20, 2014 by Greg Myers
Greg Myers Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 I'm really hoping for one of these. Oh no. you don't spose they'd down size it to 1/25 scale ?
unclescott58 Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 (edited) I'd buy all three, if they brought them back. Have the last reissue of the '36. It's a very nice kit. But, it would be nice if the stock and vintage custom parts were restored to each kit. Scott Aho Edited April 20, 2014 by unclescott58
jbwelda Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 the Blue Beetle is being reissued soon? with the scuba gear and stuff? where did you hear that? jb
jbwelda Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 Never mind...found it. Should be nice if and when. and they were starting to get silly prices on ebay recently esp with the gear intact. jb
Pete L. Posted April 20, 2014 Author Posted April 20, 2014 If the above pic is of the "NEW" Blue Bandito, then I would be stoked!!! I, and many others have been bugging Revell over the past couple years about back dating the old Monogram hot rods back to their former glory, and it seems they finally listened. Judging by the lack of interest in this thread is a little disheartening, but I know there are a bunch that will find it a great thing!!! John, Many of us have been holding our breath too long waiting for the old Monogram hot rods to return...let's keep our fingers crossed that the trend continues. Like maybe the Little "T" with the wide whites and chrome reverse wheels and baby moons ?
ChrisBcritter Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Maybe some resin shop could do a conversion kit for the stock/custom parts for those kits, plus create stock door panels and seat for the '40 pickup. Seems like a slam dunk.
grayghost Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 (edited) Could they not make a parts pack with these items? It could be a viable option to expand their revenue? Or would the making of the molds cost to much? Edited April 21, 2014 by grayghost
Pete L. Posted December 31, 2014 Author Posted December 31, 2014 Paul, Sorry for the long delay, I believe that the rear wheels and tires are the same on both of the kits, however I'm not so sure of the fronts...I never had the "Lil Deuce" .
dartman Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 There are a lot of kits I'd like to see parts restored to. But I bet many are lost being replaced by other inserts. All the early Fords up through the 36 Ford had a bunch of cool stuff. The 30 Pheaton was a 8 in 1 kit at one time!! But for now I'll just make my own and not pay collector prices. Parts box build........ I just looooove that color, what did you use?
Earl Marischal Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Is there any chance of this being reissued? In the exact form it was then? I had one in the early 1970s and the prices I have seen for originals are well beyond my budget. Cheers steve
Chuck Most Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 I believe this one was retooled to the ZZ Top Eliminator in the early '80's. Who knows- maybe Revell will bring it back in its original form one of these days, but I'm not about to start holding my breath for that day to come.
Junkman Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 No, they rather reissue something that has been reissued 46 times the past 8 years.
henry57 Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Here's a built original one on ebay, http://www.ebay.com/itm/Two-Monogram-1934-Fords-in-1-24th-scale-/271795124439?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f484078d7
pharoah Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Oh yeah, I would love to see the original reissued. And their 36 Ford, too.
horsepower Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 The '36 was released last year and is still on the shelves in most hobby shops.
Earl Marischal Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 The '36 was released last year and is still on the shelves in most hobby shops. With all the 1960s parts? If so, I may have to look one out. steve
jbwelda Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 I believe it has all the old parts plus new top options, so best of both worlds jb
Nick Notarangelo Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 I just trade that kit a few months back to someone on here and it was almost intact only four parts were missing, three head parts and a front suspension stabilizer but other than that the kit was in awesome shape.
fseva Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 No, they rather reissue something that has been reissued 46 times the past 8 years. Boy, ain't that the case! BTW, I hope you don't mind, but I'm borrowing your signature...
Dave Van Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 We had a thread on this not long ago IIRC.......... But agreed....the 1928 through 1936 Fords reissued in the same form as the 1960's era kits would be FANTASTIC!!! I have two of them and love the many options each kit has. Seems the multiple option kits is kinda gone from RM.......R2 is doing some....but these were really cool. The 34 Ford has been retooled so many times and parts deleted and tossed.....I don't see RM retooling all of them. They didn't seem like they were too happy with Blue Beetle retool......gone already and not to return. Save your cash for an original if you want one.......
jbwelda Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 >They didn't seem like they were too happy with Blue Beetle retool......gone already and not to return. how about some evidence of that? how is it "gone already" and especially "not to return"? and how exactly do you "know" this with enough certainty to post it like you really know and believe it? if its some "industry" gossip from "insiders", then it probably isn't true. and I don't know how someone can say with any certainty at all that a newly revived kit is "not to return". that sounds to me like industry generated hype to help clear the shelves so they can reissue it again soon. in other words, pure BS. all too common around here these days, if you ask me. jb

I really hope that's good enough. Working in the industry for almost 30+ years now I DO NOT DEAL IN RUMOR. Thanks!! I do see why 99% of the other folks that work in the hobby have left all forums.......looks like my time is near too. Edited March 10, 2015 by Dave Van
