Dr. Cranky Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Very cool subject matter, an excellent model indeed. Thank you.
Scuderia Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 That's pretty cool and very 80's. wouldn't have known fictional if you didn't mention it. i like it
turn1wonder Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Very nice build. I have been keeping my eyes on the lookout for this kit and you have done it justice! Bob
Casey Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 You've nailed the '80s IMSA looks for sure, Sean. What did you use for the rear spoiler? I wasn't sure if that is/was a kit part or not.
S. Svendsen Posted April 4, 2012 Author Posted April 4, 2012 (edited) You've nailed the '80s IMSA looks for sure, Sean. What did you use for the rear spoiler? I wasn't sure if that is/was a kit part or not. The spoiler came from a 1/20th scale monogram 80 Camaro that was cut down to fit. Edited April 4, 2012 by S. Svendsen
surfjunke Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Beautiful build, Sean! Great idea & great finish & graphics. Love it!
Intmd8r Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 I can't get enough of road race builds. Great Job! Love the detail around the tail pipes. Care to share how you did that?
S. Svendsen Posted April 4, 2012 Author Posted April 4, 2012 The exhaust weathering was done with by dry brushing pastel chalks mixed to a paste like consistency with alcohol.
dig Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 that is too awesome. can't imagine a cooler way to do this car.
Jantrix Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Very nicely done Sven. I was a little disappointed to find it's a curbside, but your work is superb.
Modlbldr Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Very cool build. I like the info on the exhaust weathering. I'll have to try that. Thanks. Later-
