Dr. Cranky Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 I just saw this one over at MODEL CAR ROUND UP and wonder if anyone has either information or pictures of this thing built up. I am assuming another kit fits in there . . . http://www.modelroundup.com/product-p/mpc-r2-787.htm I am drawing a blank trying to remember if I had ever seen this one. Interesting subject matter.
440 Dakota Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 it was issued as a Ramchargers dragster hauler once, and with the current box art before
Platerpants Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Yup. And the Pontiac OHC 6!!! i think it should have a hemi or ford 427/428/429
Dr. Cranky Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Thanks for posting this, I had not seen it before, but glad we combined both posts into one.
slusher Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 l have never seen one of these in the past, l wonder how good it will build up.???
Lownslow Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 this was a pretty neat kit i knew about it before its re-release but it was always out of my budget on ebay. its really cool i plan on doing some stuff differently mostly in wheels and paint department. chrome is much better than whatever eco chrome amt has been using. 2 different sets of window options neat little box thingy decals
Ben Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 If you open that chrome, can you please post another pic. It's hard to tell exactly how the wheels look through the bag.
jw78z28 Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Just got 2 of the 5 I ordered today other 3 will be shipped with the 2 50 olds I oredered. Glad to see this one back.
disabled modeler Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 I really hope they wont be a hobby shop only item like most older re-issues. My brother had the original one with the rail dragster...always wanted one.
Mr mopar Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 If you open that chrome, can you please post another pic. It's hard to tell exactly how the wheels look through the bag. Hey Ben they are three spoke rims
Ben Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Hey Ben they are three spoke rims I thought I was seeing three spokes but wasn't sure. Thanks!
Custom Hearse Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 (edited) That kit reminded me of this... Edited September 6, 2012 by Custom Hearse
Dominik Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 I got mine yesturday - very happy with it. Also my girlfriend is fascinated about that kit and she told me, to build it "now"! She wants to see every progress of it. The first time, that she is as hot like me, to get my hands on the kit! Here a closeup from the plated parts: This kit is absolut cool - i am happy, that they re-issued it.
Rob Hall Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Interesting design...reminds me a lot of some Hot Wheels, Nylint and Tonka trucks of the era....
Erik Smith Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Is the OHC 6 the same (or similar, block wise) as the 6 in the 67-69 MPC firebird? Any shots of instruction sheet showing engine?
'70 Grande Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 I've always loved the 3-spoke chrome wheels found inside this kit! They are a little-bit "custom, racing, sports car, mag" all rolled into one! What are the (4) tires like inside this kit? They look to be pretty wide, and kinda low-profile!?!
Ben Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 That kit reminded me of this... That's the Barris Supervan. I have a kit of that.
