Dave Van Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 I have built most of these Hasegawa '66' curbside American cars. I built the Caddy years ago and thought it was decent for what it was. I thought the Pontiac would make a neat low rider/mild custom. The kit has more flaws than the others of this series. But it was to test some Dupli-color Strawberry Red I got on sale more than anything else!!! I did add some Pegasus whells and lowered the car by not using the axle blocks. Some foil and that's about it. Too bad there are not more cars in the series and the are just a little better kits. I like the simple good looking build. OK for a days work.....I'll just put it on a high shelf!!! Thanks
CorvairJim Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 You did your best for what you had to work with - I know the series and it ain't too hot! For a one-day fun build, I think it came out OK. I have to find that paint! It's just the shade I've been wanting for a build I've had in mind for a while.
Luc Janssens Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 That Hasegawa release, is responsible for buying my first high $$$ vintage kit, I now have both (hardtop & 'vert) the Mpc '66 annuals of the Pontiac Bonneville. You did great Dave, mine ended up in the trash, soon after the tires ate away the white plastic inserts...
Dr. Cranky Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 What a beautiful model. You did a great job in making it look low and classy. Very nice.
TheCat Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Wow, you did a great job on this kit. I love the color.
hotrod59f100 Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 I bought that color on sale to lol must be discontinuing it? It looks vr nice on that ol boat . I always wondered about the quality of those cars.. I like it even if it's not perfect.

carrucha Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Nice build. Long and low. I really dig the wheel/tire combo.
