Tom Geiger Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Pretty COOL, I almost bought a pacer one time, they're so ugly they are almost cute, anyway NICE job!! Okay, we're resurrecting ancient threads? Cool Pacer pickup, I especially like the unusual color on it. A guy in our model club owns a Pacer woody wagon. I had one that got away many years ago. Mid 1990s, there was a red wagon with a six and a four speed. It was a Pacer X and had mag wheels on it. 60,000 miles and $1500. I thought it would be a cool daily driver. I saw it at an Englishtown, NJ swap meet and the owner wasn't around so I wrote down the phone number. This was before cell phones so I took it home with me, and it went through the wash! Doh! I keep saying I'm gonna build a model of that Pacer!
jerseyjunker1 Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 I Echo what everyone is saying. great concept and color. and like harry said to bad they did'nt do a real one their sales would have gone way up.
Platerpants Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 I though about doing that with mine, but mine turned into a hemi powered rally car
Skydime Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 (edited) I like this a whole lot. But wasn't the passenger door like 6-8 inches longer on a Pacer? Did you rescribe? Edited November 1, 2013 by Skydime
Sixties Sam Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Great conversion idea, and really well done! Nice work! Sam
berr13 Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 (edited) Other people may have imagined that modification, or seen one, but I never have, and I think my jaw dropped when I saw it. It just looks so good, and so right, that it gobsmacked me! Gotta give a big tip of the hat to that one! How about some more photos? Edited November 1, 2013 by berr13
Russell C Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 A designer named Carl Green did a prototype 1:1 for AMC of a pickup. Look out for an old copy of Petersen's Trucking Trends 1977 with an article in it about it, or a copy of the July '77 Pickup Van & 4WD magzine. Another repaint of the car at Green's own page here.
rocklandrambler Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 In fact, looking at it again, I'd bet that if someone produced that exact car in real life, it would sell pretty well. It's definitely diferent! There have been several 1:1's built. There was one on eBay about two years ago. Don't know if it ever sold. The model is very well done.
