Matt P Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 This is really cool, great idea, great execution, and great color!
Ace-Garageguy Posted May 25, 2012 Author Posted May 25, 2012 Thanks again for the comments, guys. They mean a lot.
JasonFL Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 That thing is just sick! What a great build, I can only imagine how your other builds would turn out. I hope you find some more inspiration for your other projects.
Ace-Garageguy Posted May 30, 2012 Author Posted May 30, 2012 Thanks Jason. I'm really focused on 3 to finish ASAP. This one is getting lonely, being the only one "done".
JasonFL Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Thanks Jason. I'm really focused on 3 to finish ASAP. This one is getting lonely, being the only one "done". Sweet, I look forward to seeing them done. Should we give you some sort of deadline to help you turn out some more great work? lol So do you have any build pages? I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like to see your work
Ace-Garageguy Posted May 31, 2012 Author Posted May 31, 2012 Jason, since you asked, I have two build threads on here now. The first is a '61 Dodge Dart Phoenix restoration / custom: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=58538 The second one is a re-design of the old Monogram Orange Hauler : http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=58969

You have some great projects, looking forward to seeing how they turn out. Keep it up
Albie D Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 If Stacy doesnt pick this one, it's rigged for sure. This build is all around amazing. Are those Vette taillights? Man, they blend in so well. Good luck with the contest.
mickey1938 Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 My own opinion is (what everyone else had to say and then SOME) I love it !!
Ace-Garageguy Posted June 15, 2012 Author Posted June 15, 2012 Thanks again to everyone who's posted comments. I'm really glad you guys like it. C-man405, the tires are no-name roadracing slicks from the Revell C5-R Corvette. Albie D, yes, the taillights are Corvette C5. Actually, the rear panel is C5 (NOT R) turned upside down and mated to the stock rear pan.
Ace-Garageguy Posted July 16, 2012 Author Posted July 16, 2012 Well, by now it looks pretty certain that this build wasn't good enough to win anything in the Gearz contest. Good thing I built it to please myself, eh? I would like to sincerely congratulate the winners. I'm happy that the contest did inspire me to finish something, finally, and that was a huge turning point for me. Again, congratulations to all the Revell / Gearz winners.
Tony-442 Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Great Job... thanks for the link too... I really like this one, very well done!

Ace-Garageguy Posted March 3, 2014 Author Posted March 3, 2014 I found out today that this thing got photographed at the 2013 ACME-NNL South event, and made it into the April edition of the 'other' magazine. I'm happy.
