Gregg Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 Got a care package the other day from Revell, some nice new re-issues, some are modified re-issues. Enjoy! Revell K.S. Pittman Willys Drag Coupe Revell Orange Crate '32 Ford Sedan Revell Corvette Grand Sport (Old Accurate Miniatures Kit) I reshot the kit parts to include the photoetch sheet LOVE THEM CARBS!!!!! The photo etch is there, didn't shoot the two sheets Revell '67 Chevelle Pro Street Some great kits back on our shelves!
58 Impala Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 I think all of the reissues are great, I want to get the Orange Crate myself. The only complaint I have are the rear lights on the Chevelle, I think they should retool and replace them with the stock ones.
Dr. Cranky Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 I got the Willys and the Corvette. Thanks for sharing, Gregg.

All they would have to do is give us the tail panel and rear bumper from the stock version. That's the very reason I use them for parts donors.
Casey Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 The decal sheet for the KS Pittman Willys is fantastic. I don't think I've ever seen a decal for an injector scoop opening cover.
1930fordpickup Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 These are looking good. The fall show in Toledo will hurt my wallet also !
horsepower Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 The Grand Sport is an Accurate Miniatures just re-boxed as a Revell kit, still in AM bags.
Gregg Posted May 29, 2012 Author Posted May 29, 2012 uh, yeah, I put that right under the caption/title of it
Nick Notarangelo Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 (edited) you know my poor wallet can handle much more of this,I need to sell alot more shirts and embroiderd hats to catch up for this. Edited May 29, 2012 by Nick Notarangelo
Deathgoblin Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 Hey, I got an AM Grand Sport kit, but mine's got a different hood scoop than the one I keep seeing. The scoop is more square with rectangular intakes, and plastic grills that go over the openings. Has anyone seen any pics of a real car with that scoop?
ModlerChris1987 Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Does the Chevy have spindles on it?The Pro Street one
Harry P. Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 How did Revell branding on the Grand Sport happen? Was Accurate Miniatures bought out by Revell?

That is a correct set up for the 1963 Nassau Speed Weeks races. I just got another kit like yours off of Ebay for $8 but no decals and no PE. VRM has decals for it though. Here's some photos and a lot of other cool shots. [media=]http://www.flickr.com/photos/thehenryford/sets/72157628634708063/ Its in the Flikr Dave Friedman collection. The front suspension is molded as one piece- lower control arms, spindles, steering knuckles, etc. The spindles are basically a place for the wheel backs to attach to.
ModlerChris1987 Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 I was wondering if it was going to be like the AMT Nova Prostreet because one spindle wouldn't fit in one of the backings to the fron tire than it broke.

The Revell '67 Chevelle's spindles are pretty sturdy if I remember correctly. The upper control arms, which are separate pieces, support the top of the spindle, and the wheel back fit the spindles very well, just like most Revell kits since 1990 or so.

I have had more problems with the delicate rear end of this kit than the front end. The AMT Nova and Revell Chevelle are 2 totally different kits and the only similarities are the pro street nature of them.

Wayne Buck Posted June 3, 2012 Posted June 3, 2012 Thanks for sharing Gregg!! I'll definitely be picking up a Willys... or two... or three, when the wallet allows me. Even though I have no interest at all in the 'vette, it looks to be a VERY nicely detailed kit. Might grab myself a copy for many of the cool parts that I see on the trees, depending on the price. The '67 Chevelle P/S is kinda cool, but I can see that I'm not the only one who isn't too thrilled by the "custom" tail light setup. The first thing I looked (and hoped) for in the pics, was an extra panel included in the kit with the correct lights. And, I agree, the rear suspension is a bit on the fragile side. It's at least nice to see it molded in white this time, instead of that putrid looking green.
Hamar Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Is the K.S. Pittman Willys just a rebox of the Black Stone Woods and Cook offering from the 90's?
62rebel Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 wait; is the KS Willys the one with opening doors or the new GoodGuys version? i have two VERY cherished SWC Willys that i want to restore/redo....
