customsrus Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 (edited) What do you get when you mix an AMT 70 Chevelle and a AMT new Camaro. Hopefully a newer updated chevelle. This is what I will be starting with. Edited June 10, 2013 by customsrus
customsrus Posted June 6, 2012 Author Posted June 6, 2012 I will need to fix the height of the interior tub and add to the rocker panels. The front bumper was cut into sections and I added the lower grille and turnsignals from the camaro to the chevelle bumper.
Badluck 13 Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Gonna be cool "beans",what a slick roof conversion, can't wait to see where else you take this!!!
Dirty Gringo Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Will be interested to see where this one goes keep up the great work
Hedgehog Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Wow man! My eyes are poping out of the sockets. I'm a muscle car fan. This build reminds me one tv show "one of my favs" called West Coast Customs. No excuse to not keep an eye on this customizing job. keep on creating
W-409 Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 This will be very interesting. It looks very good already. Body shaping is something that Chevy would do if they made new Chevelle. My only suggestion is, that wheel openings on the body would be a bit bigger, now those wheels look too big compared to other car, it looks like modified, not factory stock concept. But that's just me, of course. (in new concept there must be too big wheels, because that's what today's car manufacturers like.)
sports850 Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 That's really cool , love the way you married the two shells together .
Beerman86GT Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 I like what I see so far, i love Chevelles and truley dis like the new Camaro, You have taken the best parts of the Camaro though and added to an already muscular car!!!! Keep it up!!!!!
Platerpants Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 i was thinking itd be more camaro based from your first picture but it looks more chevelle to me.
Badluck 13 Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 That front bumper setup is just crazy cool, looks just so right for the direction you are taking this....
Hedgehog Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 The excitement of checking this one got me up around 6:30 A.M too early for someone who went to bed around 4:00 but it's worth it.
customsrus Posted June 6, 2012 Author Posted June 6, 2012 (edited) In the last pictures you can see that I already started on the hood Here are a couple of pictures of the progress. Edited June 6, 2012 by customsrus
RedBanditCustoms Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Looking good so far! I like the old chenille better than the camaro but i think you should have made the body more modern...Anyways its looking good
Hedgehog Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Great hood touching. Sometimes we don't have to like a car to appreciate a builder's talent. This proyect as any of all the others show our ideas and we expect them to be appreciated. Anyways, let's get back to the point of this thread.
espo Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Very interesting project. Something you might think about later on. Since you will have a Chevelle roof without a home. Maybe use the Camaro body with the Chevelle roof. I had seen somewhere in one of the car mags where an artist drawing did something along that line and it look good to me. I look forward to your work on this "Chevelle" in the mean time.
rmvw guy Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 The last time I saw a new Malibu it didn't look like one to me. Your's might be the ticket for us older guys, I like it so far. I think the new Camaros look a little large in size compared to the '69 which is perfect for the Chevelle Concept. Keep it going!
Sixx Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Huh, this will be cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep it going!!!
