Helix Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Guys, Thought I would post this one separately from my previous completed builds topic, pretty much box-stock, because I liked the look of the actual car on the box Paint is Testors Gloss Black and the interior is Revell Heritage Red, a few photo-etched bits are used as well. Cheers
mopar68 Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Kool indeed Ray, love this build. Looks like you could dive into the paint
Sixties Sam Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Wow! It's hard to type when I'm drooling! Beautiful finish, and the red interior is just right! Great model! Sam
Helix Posted June 11, 2012 Author Posted June 11, 2012 Thanks guys, appreciate the comments I must admit, the paint came out better than expected, I also used the Tamiya finishing polish instead of a gloss coat, pretty impressed with this stuff, works a charm
Grumpa Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Very nice build Ray. Looks like you drove it right off of the box!
CorvairJim Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Great job on the model, and great photos too! the only thing that told me that it wasn't a 1:1 car was the typeface on the license plate. It's that good.
camaro73 Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 That looks great! Especially the glossy black paint.
TooOld Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Now that is Black ! ! And you say that is only Tamiya polish ? Gonna have to try that stuff . Overall , a beautiful 3 - Window . Nicely done .
Helix Posted June 20, 2012 Author Posted June 20, 2012 Cheers Bob, about three coats Testors gloss black and some serious polishing with the Tamiya stuff ! Dont go too heavy with the polish, because it will dry a white colour and settle in the door lines etc, not good when you painted something black
jerseyjunker1 Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 this is the era of cars i like best. 30s and 40s stock or hot rods. this car is very well done i like everything about it. JUST GREAT
