I have four or five versions of mine created for different forum requirements, I use the same avatar on at least 95% of the forums I'm on so now I only have to browse to the correctly sized file upload it.

I like to switch them around, and its time for to change it again, all the different forums I am on, all have different size limits, so smaller then here, some bigger. I thought about doing what you do, but I would have to resize each one differently

I use a very easy to use program to resize all my pics, and it only takes a min , there are only a few steps.

Once I got a few variations saved I always have one that will work even if it isn't the exact max size limit. I seem to travel in the same internet circles some times so my little chubby woman has become sort of a calling card so I doubt I will be changing her any time soon.

I have a gif file that I've got on photobucket that I use on other forums but it won't work here , any chance of allowing gif's Harry our is it jpeg only for some reason ?

I don't use an avatar on any of the forums I belong to. It's not because I can't figure out how to upload one or that I'm lazy, it's just that I've never understood the purpose of having one.

Then again maybe it isn't ... when I look at the above post it show's the avatar as a screen grab from the gif and not a moving image whereas when I look at it in my profile it's a moving image . What do others see there ?

If I figured it out , it can't be too hard !

What I really don't understand is the age thing . Are people really that afraid that I might lnow how old they are ?

I think many people don't like giving their birthday out of fear of Identity Thieves ... just another piece of the puzzle to keep private.

Hassle? It takes about 12 seconds to add one.

It actually took me less than 12 seconds to add one. But it took me about a minute and a half to figure where to go to add one! :D
