Austin T Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 What kit is that? The fujimi or aoshima one?I love the Idea and might have to tweak it a little.
cherokeered Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Love it....very nice engine detail. What wheels and tires are those? Where did you get them?
jerseyjunker1 Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 and you should be happy with the build. it looks super. a friend of mine had one simular to this only it was red. he loved that car.
LAone Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 hey raees, great to see you posting some more of your builds on here. austin, this one is the hasegawa kit. if you like to see some more info scope it out here. http://zenkitrdcoupe.blogspot.com/2012/01/lower-than-shakotan-part-2-s30z-g-nose.html
dadaman Posted June 20, 2012 Author Posted June 20, 2012 thanx guys. the colour is as- 14 from tamiya. As Luis said it is a hasegawa kit. the kit is really detailed and comes with nice extra's like the metal transfers
CaptainAhab Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 very cool. Question, though it may be my ignorance, Is all that camber for the wheels intentional? What would be the purpose of having a tire/wheel set up like this? I ask because I know nothing about it and have never seen tires that spherical
CorvairJim Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 I'm glad Joe asked that question about the wheels and tires, because I was just about to! I've seen it done before, but I've never been able to get a straight answer as to why it's done that way.
dadaman Posted June 21, 2012 Author Posted June 21, 2012 well like i mentioned in my sss thread. this is part of an old Jap car culture. They had restrictions on the tyre widths they were allowed to run. They would have wide wheels and stretch the tyre over. They would also increase the camber to allow for wider wheels to fit under the arch.
CaptainAhab Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 copy that, but what about suspension articulation?
Terry Sumner Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 I was wondering the same things...if they actually ran cars like that? Wow...
