jdcar32 Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 (edited) I enjoyed building the 409 engine, the silver valve covers contrast with the Chevy orange block. It's a neat looking motor with the dual quads and "425" hp decals on the valve covers. Other than some engine detailing it's an out of the box build. Thanks for looking. Harry P. Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 Very nice, great attention to detail, very accurate in every way. Except... why the missing rear-view mirror?
LoneWolf15 Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 Very nice, great attention to detail, very accurate in every way. Except... why the missing rear-view mirror? With a 409 , Harry , what ends up behind you no longer counts ! Lol!
Ace-Garageguy Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 Wow, absolutely beautiful. Really an inspiration to start working on my detail skills. Just love a 409 too.
W-409 Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 (edited) Really like these old Chevy W-Blocks! You did very good job with this BelAir, engine detailing is super and I like the color too. Edited June 26, 2012 by W-409
Haubenschild Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 Fantastic work! Its nice to see something other than an Impala or a bel air with a 409
Tonioseven Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 Terrific build but how is this a Biscayne with the Bel Air roofline?
CorvairJim Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 Very nice, great attention to detail, very accurate in every way. Except... why the missing rear-view mirror? Harry, Harry, Harry... I'm surprised at you! Rear-view mirrors didn't become standard equipment by law until January 1, 1966. Unless it was a higher-line car, it was generally still optional equipment in 1962. I'm almost certain it was an option on this Bel Air, and I KNOW it was an option on the Biscayne. (Other things we take for granted that needed laws to make them standard equipment: Seat belts - Front outboard positions, January 1, 1965, all seats January 1, 1966. Back-up lights: January 1, 1966)
jdcar32 Posted June 26, 2012 Author Posted June 26, 2012 I stand corrected, I posted this late at night and had a brain f#%t. Of course this is the AMT Bel Air.
ChevyCoupe41 Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 That is one beatiful Chevy! Paint job and engine details looks very nice. Nice Work!
Toni L. Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 Fine, very fine. Details are a joy to watch, especially that of the slightly open window was invented well.
Ryan S. Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 I can't get enough of these bubble tops. Very nice. Love that 409!
Qwit Pushin Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Nicely done!!! This is what yours will look like in about 30 years:
TooOld Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Really fine 409 Jon ! Beautiful paint and very fine detailing ! I especially like the engine detail and the inner panel of the hood .
