coyote launches misiles, accelerater sticks, passes misiles, runs out of gas,oh dang look on coyotes face, sign that says s.n.a.f.u., BOOM.

Coyote launches rockets which stand still but blasts the car backwards in a harrowing ride to the very end of a jutting precipice. Wipes sweat from brow for avoiding going off edge. Missiles explode which sends traveling cracks through the ground all the way to the jutting precipice which collapses under the car that suspends for a moment before dropping (as does coyotes head and ears).

AWESOME!

I REALLY love where this is headed and will be waiting in excitement for updates!

Ya know, I always (kinda) felt bad for the toy cars that are bought just to have the wheels robbed off of them and thrown out... I think it's really cool to see TWO awesome projects come out of the toy! :)

Good golly Miss Molly...........seems a number of you guys are getting bitten by these "FUN" builds.

In all honestly gang, Ira got me started on these goofy 'toon builds, I used to look at his toon builds and think "that's cool and clever" and move on to drilling holes, adding bolts and many hours of tedious detailing to produce a shelf model that I could point to and say "I built that".

With these cartoon cars....it's all about imagination & having fun.....sure you can use all the skills you've acquired over the years and detail the max outta one if that's what blows your skirt up. However, you don't have to!!!

Remember how much actual enjoyment value we used to get from kits when we were kids?

Glue 'em, maybe swap a few parts around and paint them.....done and proud of it!

I can't speak for you guys and I'll certainly continue to build realistic models, but with these Loony builds I'm not too concerned with scale, firing order, max details etc.

It's all about the fantasy, the fun and not having to spend a small fortune building a cool model.

Steve wanted the wheels & tires but rather than toss the rest of the toy...he traded it to me for a kit that I would never get to. We both got what we wanted and none of the toy car goes to the dumpster. I'll use the lights and circuit board, speaker and all that stuff on one of my large scale builds.

It's a win, win situation and great fun besides. :D

AMAZING BODYWORK DON!!!

I Love the way you bent the body.... B)

Thanks pal....I was trying to introduce a little movement and action into a static model....you know, kinda like a stop action photo.

Amazing work so far. I had an idea while looking at the torn apart chassis. Seems to me that the coyote might like some loud tunes...I'd take that speaker that is faced down, build an enclosure for it and mount it in the back seat area. Could look pretty cool. Just a thought, but keep up the good work on this one. I'm going to go grab some popcorn and watch! ;)

Great Idea Ryan and thanks. However the missiles will be mounted under the rear hatch lid. When the hatch is closed they will pretty much fill up the real estate where the back seat used to live. The hatch will be hinged at the bottom so that when it's raised the missiles will be in the launch position. They are "smart" missiles so Wile has only to lock in on the Road Runner and fire anywhere from one to all four at once.

Lordy, this thing is coming along sweet. I'm looking at it with a big grin on my face. Thank you.

Well hey there Virgil, makes me feel all warm & fuzzy knowing I put a grin on your mug.

You might consider giving one of these over-sized goof ball cars a try..........I know I'd love to see what the Mad Styrenist comes up with. Toss caution to the wind and build one simply because it feels good. You know you want to!

I had a feeling you were going to do something creative with this, I'm loving it so far Don.

I think you may actually spark a new trend in building genres here. It looks like fun and like you said, just throw caution to the wind and let your creative juices flow!

I'm for sure being inspired already and looking forward with anticipation to every update.

Whoopeeeee, the body needs more filler & sanding but it's all back in one piece now.

I can move on to the twisted chassis, wheels, tires and the ACME goodies to put the Road Runner on the menu......."MAYBE"...we all know that the best laid plans of Wile E. have a way of backfiring!

Is it legal to apparently have so much fun on a build, Don?

Legal? Sure it is.

As far as I know, there are no laws against inhaling plastic dust, toxic hobby adhesive and paint fumes, impaling yourself with hobby knifes, eyestrain, frustration, blowing off the honey do list to get a styrene fix and so on.....................what could possibly be more fun than that?

On with the show...........

Here's a scotch tape mock up of one of the ACME GT 500 concealed anti Road Runner weapon systems.

The "smart" anti-R.R. missile unit will mount to the bottom of the rear hatch.

Acoyweapons001.jpg

When the hatch is in the closed position the missiles will be hidden from sight by a dark tinted glass rear window.

Acoyweapons005.jpg

With the hatch opened the missiles are in launch position. I hope Wile understands that when he fires one or more missiles the thrust will be directed out the rear of the car.................increasing his speed considerably!!!!!!

Acoyweapons008.jpg

Wile doesn't need a passenger seat.....right?

On that side the door will pivot open partially from the bottom....putting a rotating 20mm ACME cannon into firing position. Sure looks like that birds goose is cooked!
