W-409 Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 ...this is my: "Semi- not-perfect " version... Well.... You did outstanding job with this one, it came out real nice! Paint job looks very good to me and decals fit perfectly to body shapes. Very good job with the engine detailing too, it's truly amazing. Every single wire/hose/plumbing is just like it is in real engine. Very nice job on the Camaro, as I expected.
Sixx Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 AWESOME again John!!!! Ok, I'm ready to see it do the burn-out!!! Well... LOL!!!!!

I really like the detail on the seat belts...do you use an aftermarket set of photo-etch buckles, if so - who's? further on the belts...what material do you use and how do you get those "Simpson" patches to look like cloth??? thanx be cyan' ya...

Hi Curt.....the 5 point harness is from "Pro Tech"........the material comes with the "Pro Tech" harness........the Simpson decals were applied with Microsol and weathered with "Folk Art" acrylic black.......you cam buy the "Folk Art" at Michael's for 89 cents.......you dilute with water.......thanks.
Jantrix Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Absolutely stunning! John you never cease to amaze.
cartpix Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Another beautiful build. Keep them coming. I enjoy seeing the WIPs & the finihed product. Jeff
krazyglu Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 John I love all your builds as you well know by now, but I love seeing my pop's act like a 55 year old kid every time I show him your builds. It is really neat to see his reactions to your extraordinary skills. Once again amazing job on this car and thanks for all the motivation you give us guys. P.S not trying to advertise or anything ,but Charlie at Pro tech does a awesome job with his harness, you get a sheet of white paper that has a smooth and more textured side. This allows you to color the belts with a marker any color you like. Note that the decals do not come with the harness though. Like John I used a slixx sheet and some decal solvent.
heatride Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Another beautiful build. Keep them coming. I enjoy seeing the WIPs & the finihed product. Jeff What Jeff said . Thanks for sharing it is much appreciated !
Wayne Buck Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 I'm totally speechless!!! Absolute MASTERPIECE, John! WOW!!!
vintagedragfan Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 she's a beaut John, perfect detailing as usual!! I love it bro
Qwit Pushin Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Hello.......this is my: "Semi- not-perfect " version of Bruce larsons USA- 1 Camaro F/C....... http://www.modelcars...showtopic=57984 Uh, yeah John, I'd be embarrassed too, posting such a weak effort. My best build on my best day can't touch your 'worst' efforts, but that's why I follow your projects, I'm here to learn. Thanks for sharing your 'mistakes' with us too!
Pro Tech Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 John, another beautiful job buddy. From your delicate details to the killer paint/decal work right down to the mild weathering which give's it that "real world" effect. It's always a pleasure to watch you do your work. Charlie Pro Tech
GoatGuy Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 John- a terrific job. Your attention to detail and weathering make it look like the real car. I need to learn weathering/shadowing like that. The parachute lines really got my attention because I remember laying under there to get a couple pics of the car. Thank you for sharing this build with us.
Alan Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Too bad you did not replace the incorrect 4 speed manual for a proper automatic John. B&M Pro Ratchets don't shift 4 speeds too well. In my opinion no matter how detailed a build is, there is no excuse for a critical error like that, it just does not cut it sorry. I am just calling it like it is .......
jdcar32 Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 What with the outdoor lighting and the excellant dark wash I can almost hear that thing cackling. Brings back fond memories of the 32 car Friday night shows at US 30 in Merrillville. The big block Chevies sounded loader to me than the Hemi's. Bruce Larson, Jungle Jim, Dick Harrell, god I loved it !
