mnwildpunk Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 I'm working on a 54 sedan delivery. Well this whole model has been one step forward and six backwards. Have you ever had a model that fought you tooth and nail and what was it?
Miserable Soul Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 my current 2009 challenger....almost tossed it off my balcony 20 minutes ago....... retiring for awhile......
vintagestang Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 The last 69 Charger I built. I felt like throwing it across the shop but I didn't want to scratch any of the cars.
Johnny K Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 ....almost tossed it off my balcony 20 minutes ago....... I tossed one out the window earlier today - hit the mailman. Fortunately, it caused him to trip and fall on the dog chasing him, so he's not mad, but I think the dog's owner might sue.
Jeff Johnston Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 yes....Revell C5 pace Car Corvette. I finally just gave up on it...
Jantrix Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Yes. Skinnie Minnie. I would measure and test fit and test fit some more and then I'd build/paint and then IT WOULD NOT FIT! I finally gave up on it. I have vowed to revisit the project again, but I will be starting entirely from scratch.

jamesG Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 just finished a 68 charger that fought me on every part.
Tom Setzer Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 A 32 Ford 3 Window ,that Kept getting damaged everytime I was away from my work area! That Car was CURSED!
Foxer Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 The replica of my daughter's GMC van has been exactly that! I just got back on it after a year break and it started right off again .. replace TWO hinges, re-apply 10 decals on the back doors, re-paint the wheels ... Well, maybe that's not too bad considering how this whole build has gone, These hinges were a saga all by themselves
Joker Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Working on two projects right now. A 57 Ford Wagon lowrider and a 59 El Camino kustom. I guess the Chevy vs. Ford thing is going on. The El Camino said..Oh no YOU did'nt ! The paint bubbled on me..grrrr Joker
ZTony8 Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Yep-a pre painted AMT '57 Chrysler 300.Found out the chassis was warped, then the front steering knuckle pins broke.I tried polishing the paint and burned through some edges. Finally the cat peed on it and I called it quits. His expressed his opinion of it more succinctly that I EVER could!
peekay Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Trying to remember if I ever had a model that DID want to go together. Or some paint that wanted to get onto the model. Models and paint don't mind being bought and taken home, even opened, but that's it! Any attempt to further disturb them puts them in a very bad mood.

Junkman Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 have you ever had a model that just didn't want to be put together? That's the only kind I have.
rmvw guy Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 A '69 GTO X two. Maybe I just didn't like them, I really hate to blame the model.
Greg Myers Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 (edited) It all started with this All kin to your panel. Too many open orifices. Too fiddley. But Hey, they were the only game in town back in the day. Edited July 13, 2012 by Greg Myers
rmvw guy Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 I agree with Greg and would also add the original Revell Stone/Woods/Cook Willys.
Draggon Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 This fought me the whole way. Snapkits are supposed to be fun, and easy. Well, it was neither. The fit on everything was awful, and i had to do a whole lot of grinding on plastic to get it presentable. I did enjoy making the surfboard rack though.
cobraman Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Back in the day, almost any Revell kit that had opening anything.
Draggon Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Back in the day, almost any Revell kit that had opening anything. I actually built the 56 F-100 and had a ball doing it. the doors were kinda wonky, but I think at age 8 or 10, I was not very discriminating!
