Intmd8r
This is my tribute build to one of the coolest Cobras ever made. It is also my contribution to the Carroll Shelby tribute community build (http://www.modelcars...showtopic=58242). The kit and decals are from an old Revell/Monogram kit from the early '90's. It was dificult to recreate the 1:1 car becasue almost every reference pic I found differred slightly from one to another. I assume that is because stories about the car say that it was raced hard and was in need of heavy repair between races. The same stories would say that the car was often repaired with parts from other totalled Cobras and it wasn't uncommon to see this car with a 289 Cobra body. Some reference material for comparison: http://www.thecarsou...ssexcobra.shtml http://thegarageblog...sx-3009-begins/ http://www.legendary...y_Cobra_Racecar < a very cool and documented 1:1 build tribute to the Essex Wire Cobra using authentic Shelby parts in vintage racing Some teaser pics with more to be posted soon:

sjordan2
Terrific. What did you use to paint the steering wheel?

Intmd8r
Thanks for the feedback guys! Terrific. What did you use to paint the steering wheel? Paint & brush lol. I started wit Testor's "Rust" color as a base coat, then dry brushed brown on top of than. Sometimes the results are fantastic, others so so. jdcar32
The foam seal on the turkey pan is a neat touch, probably not a kit part ?
Intmd8r
The foam seal on the turkey pan is a neat touch, probably not a kit part ? Nice eye! I made that from some styrofoam pulled from my recycling box on garbage day
