W-409 Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I might be weird when I say this, but I think that those white walls fit much better than those Black Slicks. Those slicks without white walls, look too modern for my taste.
zaina Posted August 19, 2012 Author Posted August 19, 2012 thought i would show a couple of pics of the moon tank i built before the body goes on and you cant really see it anymore.
zaina Posted August 19, 2012 Author Posted August 19, 2012 thanks jim. it was turned on my micromark lathe. also the pullies and fuel cap.
crazyjim Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Very nice, Andy. Way back in high school I almost bought a Unimat?? lathe. Still kicking myself in the butt that I didn't.
Olskoolrodder Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 WOW,Andy,it turned out VERY nice,I LOVE it (makes me want to crack mine open and shelf everything currently on the bench!) :D
Dr. Cranky Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 BEAUTIFUL color and everything else. Excellent engine too. Love it. Congrats.

Jantrix Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Very nicely done! So how was the casting of the clear hood on your kit? Mine was terrible.
vintagedragfan Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 that is sweet Andy!, turned out beautiful man!!
zaina Posted August 23, 2012 Author Posted August 23, 2012 Very nicely done! So how was the casting of the clear hood on your kit? Mine was terrible. my clear hood isnt too bad. would like to use it but would probably ruin it cutting the hole for the scoop.
zaina Posted August 23, 2012 Author Posted August 23, 2012 thanks for the kind words everyone. like ive said before, im not a very big chevy fan, but i do love gassers and the box art just grabbed me right away. thanks again. andy
bisc63 Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Really nice build, and while the overall car is gorgeous, there are details here that are just spectacular on closer look! One that stands out to me is the steering wheel; it just looks scale perfect, and too often that is a weak area in otherwise nice builds. Clunky, over-sized, thick wheels are a peeve of mine. Close up photos are painfully honest sometimes, but yours just drive home the potential that can be unleashed from these older kits. Bravo!
am73grand Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Beautiful build. That thing looks awesome!!!!
Daddyfink Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 All you need are some miniature pocket protector wearing salesmen to make the box art a reality! Nice job!
