Just finished it today. HOK burgundy kandy with stripes fogged in silver/gray with a coat of HOK sparkles. Finished with a couple coats of 2 part urethane. First time for seat belts. It has mirrors AND an alternator bracket. I broke a windshield post after it was all painted and didn't really feel like messing with it.

Wow, Jim, lots to like here! That is a rich-looking burgundy which really complements the car's lines. Your paint application also looks sharp, as usual. There's some nice detailing going on in the engine bay, too.

Couple questions:

1) Where did the dual-gate shifter come from?

2) Any particular reason for leaving the inner fenderwells in primer?

Thank you, Monty. The pics don't show it, but along the bottom and around the wheel wells is the silver/gray and it's also along the top of the doors instead of the kit decal. If I can ever get decent engine pics, you'd see oil & trans dipsticks, fuel line, throttle linkage with return spring, and correct firing order.

The shifter was in the kit.

Inner fenderwells are in primer because I'm lazy. Actually, I sprayed the frame/chassis in primer and forgot to mask and shoot the fenderwells when I shot the body.

Jim, thats really a sharp build, love the interior and detail of the interior and the engine detail. love the the color and man that was a nice touch on those stripes. l broke a post an a 67 gto so l know how you feel. l foiled over it some of thos amt kits will do that but it is still an excellet looking build....

Fantastic job Jim. I love your interior detailing and the engine compartment is great. It's fun doing all the little details isn't it...???

Nice build !

Sucks about that 'A' Pillar ;been there before !

I wish that someone would make a Hurst Dual-Gate shifter / console as a separate item ... could sure use 'em in the 1968 Hemi Dart , or any other 60's-70's Muscle Car !

Wow, Jim! Not only do they keep getting better, but it seems like they're coming out of the "Crazyscale Garage" quicker as well! You always have nice interiors, but this is one of my favorites so far! The ghost stripes came out scary good & oh so SHINY!! l wish l could see the engine better. ^ was right, lots to like about this one! l haven't had much free time to post comments lately, but had to on this beauty! Bart.

Thanks, Slusher and Ramfins59 - I like doing interiors. The little details on a build are fun.

Thank you 1972 Coronet. I should have thought of trying to cast the kit console. Sorry.

Appreciate it Cobraman.

Thanks Al. I'm trying to catch up with the really good painters like Fatkidd and Wayne Stevens. Jr. Probably never make it, but it's fun trying.

Whoa. W-Machine. Thank you.

Hey Bart. Thanks. I purposely had the camera further away when I took the engine pic. The plan was to then crop and enlarge. Obviously, the plan didn't work. I usually have 3 builds going at a time. I have a Tiger Shark, Ford Courier, and '48 Ford builds on the bench right now.

Looks really great Jim ! Beautiful paint as usual , and it looks like you are detailing a little more with each build . The interior looks super clean , and the engine has a lot of details added . Maybe you can post another photo of it ?

Thank you much, Bob. I should figure out how to take decent engine pics every time. I promise to work on it and, hopefully, post a good result.

ALL OF YOUR BUILDS LOOK GREAT BUT YOUR CONSISTENCY WITH EACH AN EVERYONE BEING SO CLEAN IS AMAZING.I DID MEET YOU OVER A DIFFERENT FAMILY TYPE OF THING AND AM SO GLA I DID.I LOVE LOOKING OVER SUCH EXCELLENT WORK-CONGRATS!!! AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN-LOL

Thanks, Gluhead. Very nice body lines - get out there and build another.

Thank you, Marty. The way we met was different, wasn't it? A group I belong to, Vietnam Veterans Gathering, will be bringing The Wall to Crystal River, FL, September 27 - October 1, 2012.

Hey Jim, is that dog at the rear of the car hunkered down low looking for a bit of rust on the chassis?

I would guess that there is none to discover. :)

Rust?? On one of my builds? Bite your tongue. That's another dog that Bartster sent me. The 3 of them will be junkyard dogs when I get to building real diorama. I did buy a Fujima garage at the IPMS show, so at least it's a small start.

That is SO much betterer, Jim! l can almost hear it rumble! That's by far the best looking engine l've seen from your bench. You can take a bow now! Bart.

I just keep on trying, Bart. I think the flathead that's going into the '48 Ford build might outdo this one. Fatkidd came out with a second generation distributor. It's wild. Hopefully he'll post one up soon.
