Since the Fiat bodied dragster is done and off the bench it is time for a new project. On the "Miss Deal" kit I only used the body on the Stude Fuel Coupe so I have the complete chassis and engine left over. I also have the new re-release of the 66 Mustang coupe so........ I think I will use the "Miss Deal" chassis and engine and the 66 Mustang body and see what I can come up with. mustanggasser1001.jpg

I started some work on it ( no photos ) but it appears it will not be a easy as I first thought. You all know how it is when you mix kits that were not designed to go together. You change one thing and that makes you have to change two others. It will get done it just won't be the easy project I thought it would be.

Now I'm getting interested! ;)

Great idea! This Studebaker is great kit for Kitbashing parts, as I did with my Simca Gasser (in Gasser & AWB CBP). Looking forward to seeing yours.

Hope it gives you some ideas, don't mean to highjack.

Cool build Niko. Trying to fit the Miss Deal chassis to the Mustang body isn't the simple swap I thought it would be. Nothing terribly hard just more work than I had thought. Photos of progress Saturday or Sunday.

I finally found some time to devote to my Mustang gasser ( kind of ). I had to narrow the frame of the Miss Deal. I also had to legnthen it a bit. The wheelbase was close but the placement of the engine was way too far back so I had to make it longer to move the engine forward. This messed with the front axel mount and pushed the wheels way out . I may have to bring the front wheels back in but I am not hating the wheels being out so far. It would be different and I like different. Not going for a model that mimicks a real world car.I had to shorten the rear end also as it was way too wide. I also had to remove the transmission hump on the Miss Deal chassis since I plan on using the Mustang interior. I will also have to make or lengthen the drive shaft.

Ray... that looks so Cool man. I have to be honest I didn't know what to expect but I really like the direction its going. Keep up the great work. That stance and everything is perfect.

Thanks guys for the kind words. Wasn't too sure about the look when I did the mock up but I guess I will run with it and see what happens.

Looks GOOD! Only thing I would do other way, is lowering the rear end a bit and then removing some material from the body so the tires fit. And yes, front axle could be a bit more back.

Otherwise perfect, keep it going. B)

Looking real good so far Ray

I like Your additude on the build, "RUN WITH IT!!"

:D

Some plastic tubing or aluminium tubing for your driveshaft

I have seen pictures of A/FX and altered wheel base cars with the front axle like yours, check it out!

I like what Your doing

I am watching your build

Well I was finally able to find the time to squirt some paint on this WIP. Still needs to be decaled and shot with some clear and then finished up. As always comments are welcome good or bad. Thanks for looking.
