Dominik Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 (edited) Hi everybody, today i will show you my Ex Vantom. The kit was partly build, the body painted and some - or more - parts were missing. All parts, that makes the Van to Vantom were gone, also the dashboard and backlights. So i removed the paint, make my own paintjob, some bmf and build my own dash. Here some pictures: I like this Van without all the tuningstuff. So i get another Gluebomb from the first issue and today the new "Phantom". Thanks for looking, comments always welcome Edited August 25, 2012 by Dominik
01blueedge Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 great looking build I need to get one of these
2000-cvpi Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 That looks great. Have you thought about adding some decals to it? Like "Los Angeles County Coroner". That would look great in my opinion.
1972coronet Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 Thanks for the eye candy , Dominik ! Looks super ! I've been anticipating the release of this kit for some-time (truly , over 20 years !) ; I can hardly wait to see it at my LHS .
Gluhead Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 Nice! I've got a started one to rescue as well. Most of the important stuff is missing, so hello curbside.
Chuck Most Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 Gorgeous! Cannot wait for this one to come back.
Dominik Posted August 25, 2012 Author Posted August 25, 2012 Thank you very much for comments. The "new" Phantom is 100% the same kit. I get mine yesturday and i like it. So you dont need to hunt the old kit. That looks great. Have you thought about adding some decals to it? Like "Los Angeles County Coroner". That would look great in my opinion. I agree! I plant, to make a tow vehicle for my Dick Rathman's Hudson. Thats why i painted it black/white. But when i wanted to fix the decals, they were very bad and too thick. I ordered now from Jim Heller new ones. The same quality that i used on my Hudson. I think also about a S.W.A.T-Van. The colours always remember me...
crowe-t Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 Dominik, You did a great job on this build! The dashboard looks correct for this van. I have to pick up one of the re-issue 'Phantom' kits. I had a 'Vantom' many years ago that never got completed. Mike.
slusher Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Excellent work. Awsume finish and black. Nice work...
hjracing Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Awesome build. It's remain me of an 70's Popular Mechanics mag project, using a Econoline 250 van, whit have windows in the passenger side only, and they converted to a multy uses van. I really like your build.
Shardik Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Very nice, clean build. The badges look exceptionally nice. My only criticism would be that the side mirror brackets look out of scale, but I'm not a van guy, so maybe not.
Lunajammer Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Beautiful work as usual Dominik. I'm glad you beat the rush of new kits.
Jantrix Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 "Yes officer, I saw the getaway car. It was a black van with a white top." Nice work.
modelguy45 Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 its a great lookin ford van i have 3 of them
