realgone58 Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 Just finished this one, from the original 1960 Hubley customizing kit. It was actually moulded in factory Aquamarine, with a nice promo like gloss, so I chose to leave it alone, but added the white roof. I two toned the interior with some metallic turquoise and white. I also used parts box wide whites because the Hubley ones were way too small for the car. The beltline chrome foil was a challenge because there really was not much definition to the moulded in trim. I used masking tape for my edge to trim the foil. More time on the foil than anything else, because the kit is basically an unassembled promo. Interesting fact is, they moulded the kits in Aquamarine, but not the promos. Promos I've seen in baby blue, light yellow and white. To make a "woodie" Country Squire out of one of these, the lower side trim would have to be removed. I think the Country Sedan looks much better than the Squire anyway. 3

Dominik Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 Oh yes,....this country sedan really lookks better than the squire Al. Looks great!

Qwit Pushin Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Nicely done. Great execution of a unique kit, thanks for sharing.
Space Cowboy Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 A stunning build from a Hubley kit. Super paint...............
W-409 Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Beautiful Ford STW. Pretty unusual subject, but that's good. You did great job with the paint and finishing, it looks very good. I didn't know that there was a kit of this, but if it's made by Hubley, not suprised since those are rare...
disabled modeler Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 VERY NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have the 61 been wanting to restore but it needs a lot before I can...hope when I can it comes out close to as nice as yours. Love wagons.
2000-cvpi Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Great job, I love the subject. Leaving the turquoise as the color was a great idea.
Sixties Sam Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Very nice! The color is just right, and the white roof looks good with it. Nice work! Sam
