crazyjim Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Here's my just completed '48 Ford painted in HOK planet green over a gold base with some Pearl ex spring green in the first clear coat. That's also one of Fatkidd's 2nd generation distributors in there.
bbowser Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 A tri-carb flathead! Love the throttle linkages and general engine details. Great color.
crazyjim Posted August 29, 2012 Author Posted August 29, 2012 Thanks, Bruce. The intake manifold was in the kit.
slusher Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Very nice build and awsume paint. Nice work on the interior and interior colors. Excellent build..
Dr. Cranky Posted August 29, 2012 Posted August 29, 2012 Ah, the shine and the color are sweet. Nice job, Jim.
crazyjim Posted August 29, 2012 Author Posted August 29, 2012 Thanks, Slusher. Appreciate it. Thank you, Dr. Cranky. SHINY :) RULES! Love those Pearl Ex powders.

kruleworld Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 nice build. i like the recessed rear lights.
rmvw guy Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 I always love to see another Flathead Ford engine! I love the picture of the rear showing the tailights and the exhaust pipes, very cool!
TooOld Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 Another beautiful build Jim ! The color combo looks really nice on the interior . Can't see the engine to clearly but the distributor looks like it has some nice boots on it .
charlie8575 Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 I'll be honest, Jim, I'm not too sure about those rims- too dainty looking for that car, I think. I do, however, really like the color scheme and overall execution. Charlie Larkin
Sixties Sam Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 Nice! Great color, and engine detail. Cool wheels, too. Sam
realgone58 Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 Another beauty Jim! Shiny.........and my favorite color!!! Love the use of the different greens. See ya at the meeting Sat.
Austin T Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 Great job on the model Jim.Can you paint a car without using HOK?Lol, I like HOK and need to invest in it.
crazyjim Posted August 30, 2012 Author Posted August 30, 2012 Thank you all for positive comments. Walter - the tailight openings were ground out with a cutoff wheel on the Dremel tool. Ron - the kit has a very nice flathead engine IMO. I don't do many flatheads but I liked this one. I mounted a "normal" distributor to the front cover plate. My engine pics never seem to come out. Bob - The distributor is a Fatkidd 2nd generation unit. They're gorgeous. Ken - thank you. SHINY :) RULES! Charlie - I liked the wheels and thanks. Shane - thank you. Sam - thanks. I like the wheels too. Al - Thank you. I'll be at the FAST meeting on Saturday. Austin - Thanks. Is there another paint besides HOK? LOL I have about 30 colors in my arsenal now and plan to get more. Coast Airbrush seems to have the lowest prices.
Grumpa Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 This '48 is beautiful Jim. You're right, "Shiny Rules"! Everything about this looks right. The color, and the choice of wheels really set this one apart from any that I've seen. Great looking car!
crazyjim Posted August 30, 2012 Author Posted August 30, 2012 Wow. Thank you, Mark. The wheels are from the newer '56 Chevy kit.
Shardik Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 Wow, you really take that shiny business seriously, don't you :) . I like the color combo' in the interior, and all the details, details, details. Very nice job. (I just realized, looking at yours, that I forgot the seat belts in my '48) Keep 'em coming !
