Dr. Cranky Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Wow, that doesn't sound good. Looking forward to the pictures.
uncle potts Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 And the hobby was really starting to look up, sounds pathetic.
Tom Kren Posted October 14, 2012 Author Posted October 14, 2012 Wow, that doesn't sound good. Looking forward to the pictures. NOT ALOT OF PICS DOC will post soon
martinfan5 Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 Maybe Revell made the right call by not going
Tom Kren Posted October 14, 2012 Author Posted October 14, 2012 HERES THE PICS! They had model show there too so i took pics starts at pic 2255 http://public.fotki.com/TomK/northcoast_model/northcoast-display-/page2.html
Craig Irwin Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 There's a lot of great kits comming out next year, but we allready knew about them. Still a fantastic 2013 ahead.
uncle potts Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 AMT's Ford C-600 is news to me, and is now on my want list.
slantasaurus Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 If you've never been to an iHobby show before I can understand how the limited amount of model cars could be a shock but I've been to the show several times and without Revell there would be little reason to go. The big question is, what reissues is Round 2 coming out with ??? That is really the only news here, I wasn't expecting anything new from AMT/MPC or Lindberg (was Lindberg even there ??).
Deano Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 (edited) AMT's Ford C-600 is news to me, and is now on my want list. I saw that! I gotta have me one of them! Just a thought, though. This was a HOBBY show, not just a Model Car Show. We got most of our good news last week and we already knew Revell wasn't going to be there. There are some jewels from Round 2, just look through Tom's pictures and you'll find them. Edited October 14, 2012 by Deano
Casey Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 I see the '49 Mercury (which was mentioned as a reissue two years ago on Round2's blog), '57 Ford hardtop, '58(?) Plymouth "Christine", Hulk Monster Truck, and (real?) vintage amt box art for an MPC '69 Hurst/Olds kit in this pic:
MrObsessive Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 Is that a corrected body on the '58 Plymouth??? Or are my eyes deceiving me? The trim appears straighter than the last issue...................
Casey Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 ..and in this pic, a backdated AMT Chevy LWB van, '56 Ford Crown Victoria, and the Sock It To Me early '60s Vette as "new" reissues:
Rob Hall Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 (edited) The retro box art on the '69 Hurst/Olds is pretty cool. The '71 Chevy van in retro 'Rescue Van' box art looks interesting..wonder if they are including the extra parts that original issue had. Looks like they are reissuing the '57 Ford in vintage box art also. Edited October 14, 2012 by Rob Hall
Casey Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 AMT's Ford C-600 is news to me, and is now on my want list.
martinfan5 Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 I can say that I am not all excited like I was for Revells 2013 line up I know I will be getting the Rescue Chevy van, been wanting one, but not at Ebay price's Its nice to see some Van kits making a comeback, I hope that trend continues
Casey Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 I see the Opel GT was shown again, so hopefully they finished cleaning up the tooling and it will appear in 2013:
1930fordpickup Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 There was a large scale Manta Ray at the Detroit Auto Rama this past year and a guy there for autographs . Do not care for the car so we walked by while looking at the car a bit. it looked like it was a rapid prototype model.
disabled modeler Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 OK...The Chevy Rescue van and Ford C-600 for me please.
1930fordpickup Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 (edited) It looks like that the C-600 is 1/25 scale ! This will lead to many different versions of this box truck. Farm trucks with a flat bed ,stake beds, grain trucks . Edited October 14, 2012 by 1930fordpickup
D Fowler Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 I think this is the Manta-ray. Kinda spendy if this is it: http://www.structomodels.com/
Mr Cranks Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 Tom is 100% correct it was a joke, it was a wasted trip for me.
Casey Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 Thanks for taking the pics, Tom. The timing of the '49 Mercury, '57 Fords, late '50s/early '60s SITM Vette, and '50 Olds diecast is a bit peculiar, or maybe it makes perfect sense. I'm a bit disappointed to see the '33 Willys won't be in an original style box, and the faux retro '69 Olds box art (I don't think AMT ever released that version) just looks weird to me. I don't see a built-up 1/16 Petty clear bodied Charger, either, so maybe that kit won't appear until late 2013 or 2014 now? Looks like the '40 Ford coupe is a no go, too.
