realgone58 Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Old AMT kit that I bought off the Bay. Someone did a really decent build. I like it, so I left most of it alone. I did add the tires and wheels, and removed the bumpers for a "light drag" look. Cleaned up pretty good
Phildaupho Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 I like it. Round 2 might actually sell a few of the re-issues.
Modlbldr Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Nice looking Cobra. Sure wish I knew what color of paint that was. I assume you bought it already painted? Later-
Draggon Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Wow, thats neat! Nice to see a Cobra thats not all "427" !
Silver Foxx Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 A great looking build, nice to see a slender Cobra, a change from all the fat 427's ( they look nice as well).
Chuck Most Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 That turned out just beautiful. Sometimes you get so used to the 427s you forget how good the small block cars looked.
cobraman Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Nice. Good choice on the wheels. Always happy to see another Cobra.
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Nice save / rework. Like the wheel / tire choice.
slusher Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Nice little model, nice touch on the wheels..
tubbs Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 nice save. unusual color for that car, i like it!
realgone58 Posted October 22, 2012 Author Posted October 22, 2012 I love the color too, wish I knew what it was. That's part of what persuaded me to buy it. I'm not a fan of the "fat" Cobras.
Gluhead Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 I can see why you didn't do much to it! We see too few of these non-steroid Cobras.
Platerpants Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 me and cobra man always know how to sniff out a nice cobra i like it but why only 2 whitewall tires?
realgone58 Posted October 23, 2012 Author Posted October 23, 2012 me and cobra man always know how to sniff out a nice cobra i like it but why only 2 whitewall tires? Front ones are skinnies, the back ones are old pie crust slicks.
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 ....the more I look at this, the more I like it. Reminds me of the time people actually drove these things and took them to the drags on weekends. Man, it was a better world then. (Warning: old geezer opinion).

Duntov Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 Alan: These old AMT Cobra kits are really quite well done and it was nice to see you save this one.... good work my friend.... Regards Bill (Duntov)
realgone58 Posted October 24, 2012 Author Posted October 24, 2012 Thanks everyone for all the comments. Now I need to set this on a trailer, hook it to a Cadillac..............like the old song Hey Little Cobra, by the Ripchords. It WAS a better time then, but we wouldn't have the internet for this forum :-(
