I LOVE it when this happens! Some guy ACTUALLY thought it was worth what some clown paid on E-Bay for it. Glad ta see it back as a plastic kit. It'll run what MAYBE 20 bucks? Take THAT scalpers!

FWIW I got the TR Wranglers when WM had them on closeout for $4 ea. The DaisyD Ci (sic) was on clearance for $7. At these prices I bought all there were.

Not sure why this got bumped to May, but it's up on Revell's facebook page as one of their May releases:

Something must have happened. I'm still waiting on our RPP shipment, that usually hits in the 3rd week of each month. Never got an updated release schedule this month (usually get that around the 15th), so I don't even know what's supposed to be on it. Could have missed the boat from China - that stuff happens, sure there's a simple reason for it.

*edit* Now I see they've combined April and May's releases. Looks like we'll probably end up getting May's stuff a little early and April's stuff a little late. Betcha they held the shipment so the 5.0 Mustangs could make it on a little ahead of schedule... B)

Mark your calendars... On Friday, May 3 we'll be launching our mid year collection! It includes nearly 40 kits, including all new tooling, updated favorites, and some special retro releases you won't want to miss.

Per Revell on Facebook. This should include the Jeep!!! WOO HOOO!!!

Chinese New Year caused a major fustercluck over there. Jeep will be out next month - *edit* end of this month, actually.

Only issue I see with the kit is they used 6-bolt wheels rather than 5-bolt, as the real thing has.

I noticed that too, but for me that's easy enough to overlook for now. B)

:o

I got the motor (Revell Prowler V-6) for it but looking for the Right Trans

If it was 1/24, I'd have that issue and many others already figured out.. :(

Mmmm, I got an Extra Revell Syclone laying around..

That could solve a lot of issues.. :D

Hello RodneyBad. This Jeep have the same chasis and axles as the Tom Rider model? The Tom Rider have some very inacurated runing gear.

Jose,

This is the exact same kit as the Tomb Raider kit which had a die-cast body.

For all of the Jeep modelers out there this kit is very exciting. It is a nice representation of the TJ series and will be the start of many different Jeep builds. I think the tires will end up on a lot of other builds. I have done the TR kit with the metal body and the all plastic kit will e much easier to modify. I foresee a lot of Hemi swaps which is happening in the 1:1 world as well. Here is one I did of the metal kit. TJ8-1.jpg

Rodney, if you part out that Revell Syclone, I'm looking for a complete body unpainted or glued as long as it's the white plastic version. I have plenty of the black ones. Please let me know!

The front axle is shown at the bottom of the picture that Chad posted. It is a decent representation, has the steering and lower control arms molded on.

The MP Jeep is just a quick respray, change of tires and some small added details.

The TR TJ family:
