Chuck Most Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Got some kits everybody else got six months ago.
martinfan5 Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Dont feel bad, I have no desire to get any of those kits, I would get the van kits, if they had say the grill style from the 80's
deja-view Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 I have this 57 Chebby stored away somewhere and not quite sure where it is. It is the only 1/25 scale car I have that I really want to build. Are there many of these out there? I hate to start old kits without a "backup" in case I lose or break a part.

Darren B Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Got the latest issue of model cars mag John Teresis bently is the bomb!
The Creative Explorer Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 My new goodies I go this week: A truck accesories set, hopefully can be to use when I start my wrecker-project. A free Copperhead snap-kit, I have great plans with this nice looking concept The Hasegawa XJ-S TWR, not the best looking Jag, but it's ages very well and starts looking better and better. Just because I like Jaguars and it came with a very desirable kit for me. This one: The Gunze Sangyo High-Tech E-type (airfix rebox) and what a kit this is! I've been looking for one for a very long time and found this one for less than 30 bucks. It barely has plastic parts, it comes with so much white-metal and photo-etch that it scares me to build. A nice addition to my old car builds, don't you love those nice shapes from the overdone '30s and '40s?
The Creative Explorer Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Up to the more serious stuff, I bought 25 pounds of resin, so I can start pouring my own parts. I have felt to do this for a long time now, I keep searching for parts that do not exist and I'd like to make copy's of my scratchprojects. Especially with the way I am heading, I want to get more into this stuff. To make the molds, I got also 12,5 pounds of silicons together with some plast, appearantly I need it hahaha. And as a nice bonus, my RoG 1/12 Mustang came in to, it needs to be reviewed for the Dutch IPMS
deja-view Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Those XJS TWR's were pretty neat looking, and seem to make a good modeling subject. I don't know how Jag raced them, though, because they weighed a ton. Well, actually, about 2 tons. And, they still had Lucas electrics. They must have carried a bag full of relays and fuses with them.
Kaleb Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Both are new the apache is missing instructions tho. Got the helicopter for $1.50 and the titanic for $2.00 it even had the original receipt for $24.
Junkman Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 (edited) It's been a while since I got anything 1:20 scale: And back to 1:24... Edited April 18, 2012 by Junkman
Dingo5162 Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 I got myself a London bus on laybuy (layaway) which I'll pick up in about on the 24th of May hopefully, this will be my last ever plastic model can't afford them anymore guys. Dingo
Scuderia Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Nice resin score. I'm going to ATTEMPT to repro some parts myself; but in a much smaller quantity of material lol
Jodah Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 This past weekend I picked up the Tamiya CB1100R re-issue. Now I can't decide to go full on Cafe Racer with it, or do a hard tail bobber. >_< any ideas? lol.
Scuderia Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Everytime I see Cafe Racer, i think of that bright Mustang kit lol
Jodah Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 I actually usually picture a waitress running with coffee to the next diner.... but my mind is a bit twisted..
Scuderia Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Here's the latest. It will be dampened, placed in ziplock and then my freezer.
martinfan5 Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Hey look, its a Mustang, why I am not susprised , so some one put it together with out painting any of it?
Scuderia Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 lol i know, i have a real sickness going on in my stash... Yeah i found a bloke on eBay thats selling many prebuilt kits sans paint. weird, but for 13 total i wont sneeze at getting a bare white 93 cobra
martinfan5 Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 $13 not a bad price for it, hope it comes a part easy for you
Scuderia Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 better than 30-50 for a new one lol. and thanks if i can get a nose and tail recast in resin when i get my materials i was gonna put one set on one of the convert. bodies i have for giggles
The Creative Explorer Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Nice resin score. I'm going to ATTEMPT to repro some parts myself; but in a much smaller quantity of material lol I don't have any plans for a huge quantity, but getting this was actually cheaper than getting a retailset of 2 pounds. So, easy choice.
deja-view Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Joshua; You got that Titanic for TWO bucks?? What scale is it? Missing parts or any assembly?
groo12 Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 My TIm Flock Hudson Hornet Was waiting on my doorstep, when I got home today.
Scuderia Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 I don't have any plans for a huge quantity, but getting this was actually cheaper than getting a retailset of 2 pounds. So, easy choice. in that case then totally good plan
robertw Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Yes, from Dennis. Seems he got a nice load of Japanese kits in. I actually tried to buy that Lupin III kit you got - I have a few of the others in the series. Lupin III was/is a very popular cartoon character in Japan and Gunze made a number of kits including some of his "crew" and, in the case of the kit you got, the detective who is always trying to catch Lupin III. Erik: If you'd like the two figures from the kit (the girl was missing) leave me a message. As I said in my initial post I'm only interested in the car. rob
