Got a new-old-stock 327 engine plus a couple extra custom bits from the '63 Nova wagon kit:

It's destined for the '65 Nova hardtop I've been patching together from a Rat Packer (body, glass and chrome), a very junked '62 Nova convertible (rear quarters, interior, chassis, engine compartment), a Modelhaus hood, and leftovers (wheels/tires, engine compartment items, and front suspension if I get ambitious) from a kind fellow MCM member's Trumpeter kit.

Also got a batch of '60 Ranchero items from Casey (thanks!).

I got this beautiful kit from mshobbies.com at allot less that what others are charging. It has photo-etch parts and seat belt material. For some reason it comes with 2 sets of 5 tires, probably gravel or tarmac versions. In someways it is better than Tamiya's rally cars. The decal sheet is complete, just paint white and the rest is decal. the kit is Belkits Ford Fiesta WRC.

And Yes the Belkits range of Rally cars are very good indeed. I have my local LHS 20 miles away and he has them in stock. Very good quality and detail.

Pat, I like Omnimodels too. They don't muck about and I can afford their postage rates..

My wife came home and handed me a Myers Manx and yet another Hemi Dart and said

Happy Easter.I'm thinking she's a keeper.

Got off of Ebay and came in the mail today. A '69 Pontiac Grand Prix promo model(missing the passenger seat though). One of my 2 favorite years for the GP(also the '70). I really like the quad headlights vs. the singles for '71-2. The front ends just look better in my opinion.

Finally scored two unbuilt '65 Continental convertibles - cheap and cheaper; open boxes but sealed inside (oddly, each one is missing one metal axle  - no big deal):

One Prestige, one regular. One will become a sedan with a roof/package shelf transplant from a gluebomb '64 (only '64 and '65 had the same roof); the other may either be parts or trading material.

One of my favorites too Andy! :)

I have a 1:1 '69 Grand Prix Model J that's been in storage for over 20 years!

Finally got some money together & the restoration begins this spring

Mine is Crystal Turquoise with a parchment & black interior, no vinyl top, with the 400 auto & the Rally II wheels.

@Steve- Sounds like it'll be a sweet ride once she's back in form and on the road again! Wouldn't mind finding one(not a project or restoration) eventually seeing as they're still reasonably priced. No way I can afford the GTO, Trans Am, or Formula FB I want unless I win the lottery or something.

What a trip down memory lane, Andy & Steve. I had a 1:1 '70 model "J" 455 in the late 70s when I was in college. Great car, except that the 455 had a tendency to eat harmonic balancers. I later sold it when I got married, as it was not exactly a fuel efficient family car. Wish I had kept it....

I probably would have sold this one many years ago if it weren't for the sentimental back story. This was my first really nice car out of high school. My wife & I dated in it & used it as our "get away car" at our wedding. Heck, even my wifes little brother used it for his senior prom! So it has a lot of history in my family & it'll be really nice to bring it back home where it belongs. I really don't have any photos of it, that is, nothing digital. Maybe I'll scan an old wedding photo sometime. :)

Funny story about the '69 Pontiac Grand Prix. It is one of my all time favorite cars, and I do have the original MPC annual I built back in 1969. It's been stripped of the multi color Testor's green and black paint, and is sitting waiting to be restored. Day before yesterday, I found a '69 I was once working on, and may come back to. I painted it Black, with a Black Vinyl roof, but I put it in the junk pile, as I was trying to build a more detailed model, using the AMT '70 Monte Carlo Chassis and guts. Unfortunately, the last straw came when one of the "A" pillars snapped off. I had Bare Metaled the body, and the paint was pretty smooth. I was cleaning up the basement when I came across the body, and it looks pretty good. I may just fix that pillar and build a car out of it, I have a lot of G/P parts from that era, and junkers are not too hard to come by for anything else I need. I have all the years of that era of PontiacGrand Prix cars, only one being a pristine unbuilt car ('71), but the rest are servicable. My original is slated to be painted Verdoro Green, with the Verdoro Green Vinyl Roof, and the Saddle Interior, like the brochure car.

This isn't my car, but it is the correct color. You'll have to picture it minus the vinyl top & with a white & black interior & the rally II wheels. I may be biased, but I think it's the nicest color combo I've seen on a '69 Grand Prix. B)

Oh That is SWEET...! I love the 69,70 GPs...my parents use to own a 69,70,71...they need to re-issue these things I need some for my family replica collection...NICE...!

The green '69 GP is actually my second GP promo. I have a silver "rebuilder" as well. Got it dirt cheap! It needs a little work rebuilding an A-pillar though. Also replacing the wheels with Rally II's from a '73 Formula FB promo that's getting Honeycomb's.

Went to an estate sale today. Picked up a few vintage buildups . highlight was a 64 Falcon convertible body with some costume front and rear glued on,67 mustang fastback and a 69 Impala.

We all know the story the first guy in the door on opening of the sale took all the good stuff in the sale photos. All 60's vintage boxes with cars and parts. Is what the girl at the register told me today.
