Scale-Master Posted February 13, 2015 Author Posted February 13, 2015 Thanks Art.The foam is steak packaging. It comes in a few colors and for some reason the black and gray are not as common at the stores we shop at.
Art Laski Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Thanks for the reply, Mark. I can see that type of foam being pretty useful.
Scale-Master Posted February 19, 2015 Author Posted February 19, 2015 I made the center caps for the wheels out of aluminum.
Deano Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Mark ... I've been watching this entire build in mostly quiet amazement. I have one question that I really need to ask. Do you have a CNC mill or did you do this all manually?
Scale-Master Posted February 19, 2015 Author Posted February 19, 2015 No CNC anything, all old school manually.
Scale-Master Posted February 20, 2015 Author Posted February 20, 2015 The windshield and wipers are installed as well as the roll bar.
Codi Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Hmmmm, let me see....no.......uh........nope.......can't think of anything...............STILL LOVING THIS BUILD AND THE POSTS! Superb craftsmanship Mark. Cheers, Tim
Scale-Master Posted February 21, 2015 Author Posted February 21, 2015 Thanks Tim! The trunk latch/lock is installed. Only a few more parts to go…
Scale-Master Posted February 26, 2015 Author Posted February 26, 2015 Final parts are installed. Finished photos soon... What a ride.
Foxer Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Final parts are installed. Finished photos soon... What a ride. It was immensely enjoyable from the passenger seat!

Zandmann Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 I've been following this build all along and the superlatives are gone. This is The Most Amazing build I've ever seen. Period. Art combined with huge amount of craftsmanship and talent. Thank You for sharing this with us mortals. -Janne
Tony-442 Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Wow... I just wanna take it for a drive!! Amazing Work.
sjordan2 Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 One of the most astonishing scratch builds I've ever seen Absolutely superb, worth every minute of your work.
Scale-Master Posted March 3, 2015 Author Posted March 3, 2015 Thanks for all the comments guys! I guess it wasn’t 100% finished even though I entered it in the ValleyCon last weekend. I decided to add some more “junk in the trunk” and I made a 1/12 scale version of the 1/24 scale Tamiya Lotus 7 kit box.
Cato Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Somebody has to confiscate your tools and handcuff you Mark....
Twokidsnosleep Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 oh that is hilarious a model box of the model
Scale-Master Posted March 3, 2015 Author Posted March 3, 2015 Yeah, I can't seem to stop... And there's more stuff I'm playing with for it. Small point, it is not a model box of this model. Wrong scale, different car, and it is a kit. This model isn't from any kit.
Cato Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Serious question; do you plan another epic, tour-de-force like this effort? Either next in line, or a few less-complex builds to unwind? I know you have the skill level to do either but the mental effort may warrant a 'breather'. I should seriously discontinue my Roller WIP as this is just the TEXTBOOK for all of us. Many of us can present a new idea / technique / tip in our builds but you've encompassed EVERYTHING about model car building in this one project. You've accomplished a 'take-no-prisioners' build. All other builds, nice as they may be, are off your planet. I'm a guy that likes to sweat the details but you bring new meaning to the term.
Scale-Master Posted March 3, 2015 Author Posted March 3, 2015 (edited) That's very kind of you to say Cato, thank you. As far as another big project, I'm sure something will come along and yes, after a breather of sorts. There was more than five years between the start of this and the finishing of the last "big" project. Next in line are replicas of cars I've owned and one of a friend's car. Four are started, three are on this forum, and I'm looking for a kit for one more that I'll probably start before those are completed. Now, back to my addiction. Better to have some maps to keep from getting lost on my way to the GSL. Edited March 3, 2015 by Scale-Master
