tomsheehy Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Here's my latest, one I have been wanting to get to for a while. Its a 1962 Chevy Biscayne, built from the resin body from MCW Automotive Finishes combined with the AMT 62 Bel Air kit. I also used a bunch of parts from the current Revell 62 Impala such as the door handles, wipers, hub caps, and some detail decals. I also used a parts box 327/Powerglide powertrain, I think that originally came from the Revell 63 Impala kit. The paint is Tamiya, olive drab from their Military line and gloss black, all with a clear coat. Interior is from the Bel Air, painted Tamiya champagne, which is a close match to Chevy's fawn beige. I also used Scale Motorsports seat pattern decals. Keith Marks supplied the body decals, while Code 7 supplied the MSP decals. The police gear is mostly parts box stuff, the Federal "Junior Beacon Ray" came from a 1/32 toy or kit, but I can't remember which one.
72 Charger Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Thats very nice well built and well pictured
hvymtl Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Really nice work . i want to show my Dad this but i am afraid i will end up giving him flashbacks to his days of playing out on the streets of the D.C / Maryland area. In his 406 Galaxie LOL Michael
bbowser Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Great model. Nice to see something other than an Impala. Nice job on the interior, very clean build.
Erik Smith Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Great looking model. I actually like the Biscayne top better than the "bubble". Nice details.
exnyman Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 (edited) fantastic! I'm sure that build took a lot of fiddling to get right and you did a great job! I'm still stalled on my MCW 69 Biscayne which I'm doing as my Dad's company car he had in 69. Edited February 3, 2013 by exnyman
charlie8575 Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Wow, that came out nice. I like the suggestion of the champagne paint, I've been trying for a long time to figure out something that would work right for the fawn interior and that looks like it'll fit the bill just nicely. Charlie Larkin
bbsbase Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Even when I come from the motorcycle section, I take a look here from time to time. I like this model, very nice and clean build. Please let me know what TS Number is the Tamiya champagne, because I only find a golden color tone from Tamiya called chamagne and yours look right silver, like I need it for a project of mine.
slusher Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Another sharp and unique build. you do excellent work.
Eshaver Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Tom, ya done good . I've been watched several times running the hi ways of Maryland as a driver

I just got in a couple cans of TS75 to do a 64 Thunderbolt inter color , I was told to do it over a dark grey primer

Yes, it is TS-75, champagne gold. I painted it over Tamiya gray primer. It is a very light gold, but you can tell the difference from silver. Thanks everyone for the comments.
jtsimeral Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Excellent work! I love seeing the old police cars on here...way better than seeing new ones in my rear view. Jerry
Dominik Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 pretty cooooool! love these old "copcars". Is there a real model?
