Sweet serendipity! I was just sitting here this moment, trying to think of a way to make the STP reds on my Petty builds more red. For the most part they tend to come out orangey as they normally look after a days racing. I prefer mine to look pre-race. This might be just what i'm looking for.

Why not just use Plsti-Kote or Dupli-Color red oxide primer?

Personally, for a pink, I'd probably use white primer.

Because now you dont have too

If you use red primer, the red paint job wont be as bright

As the info says,

Indispensible when painting bright red, this primer provides an undercoat.

Awesome... when I painted my 288GTO I used red oxide primer and the Italian red turned out a little dark. This might be just the ticket for my next red Ferrari... probably the F50.

This is good news.....Tamiya Pink-Primer....with TS-8 ( Italian Red ) is going to go well with my Ferrari Kits...

I have read that Ferrari uses a Pink Primer on the Red Ferrari's.....

What a great save! That guy was almost fired for not cleaning the vat thoroughly after the formulation of TS-85 before trying to mix the Fine White Primer. Comes out smelling like a rose…

I just used the tamyia pink paint as a base and sprayed italian red over it. It turned out just like all the other italian reds i have used

Pink primer... sounds like a "new obsession". I suppose it does have it's practical uses.

I've had success with regular light gray primer, a thin coat of gold and then bright reds.

Like a light shining through the red.

Figure painters would love them if they'd come out with a black primer. Been telling them for years they need to do one... Smoothest primer on the market and they're blowing a nice little chunk not offering a black primer.

And now pink, I guess for those guys who have to paint their scale Ferraris the exact same way the 1:1 Ferraris are painted. I remember years ago Modeler's Finisher's doing a McLaren Red set that included a pink primer.
