Dr. Cranky Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 No, I would not buy one of these and would rather stick with my cruiser motorcycle, but I do wish there would be more of these vehicles on the road. I think they are still too expensive. http://www.eliomotors.com/cool-colors/

Dr. Cranky Posted March 13, 2013 Author Posted March 13, 2013 What interests me about this is the design possibility of turning any American car design into a three-wheel vehicle like this.
Deano Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 What interests me about this is the design possibility of turning any American car design into a three-wheel vehicle like this. I thought the same thing when I first saw it; what can I cut up to make something like that? And what power plant, certainly not a 2-cylinder motorcycle engine? Maybe a front-wheel drive V-6 or small V-8? Turbo 4? The mind boggles.
FASTBACK340 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Wow!!! I drive about 45 miles a day and currently I spend about $65 a week on gas. I wonder how soon it would start paying for itself? Plus I could park it under my deck..... Unrelated, but a few days ago I spotted a different 3 wheeled car in traffic here in Queens,NY. It appeared to be brand new and very boxy. I think this may be the next craze. And used as intended, might work.
Kaleb Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Very different, but I wonder why I hear E CO Li or however it's spelled running through my head
Lunajammer Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Not unlike the mini cars used in "Austin Powers in Goldmember."
Ace-Garageguy Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Ummmm....I designed this in 1984.... Full-scale model under construction in 1995... ...one web article here... http://contest.techbriefs.com/component/content/article/1801

That's an interesting idea Doc... How about turning some of those European supercar designs(I.E. the Enzo, Countach, Diablo, ETC...) into a 3 wheel vehicle like this? That might be very interesting... Edited March 13, 2013 by Custom Hearse
FASTBACK340 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Could this be the spiritual rebirth of the original Morgan? I could definitely see myself getting one if its what its hyped as. Just makes sense. And cents.... My Wife says blue or black....with tinted windows.

No, a Morgan inspired 3 wheeler would be low slung and cool looking.......that thing is just a 3 wheeled penalty box. Probably be ok for people who only own a car because they need one or can't afford to buy then fuel much more than that. I'd much rather have the new Morgan than that thing.....................
NormL Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 License them as a motorcycle. I know that is how you license a T-Rex
Ace-Garageguy Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 License them as a motorcycle. I know that is how you license a T-Rex Exactly, which also avoids all of the Federal crash standards for cars. Been all through it years ago. We even were in negotiations to qualify the vehicle as a helmet, so in motorcycle-mandatory-helmet states, you'd be covered.
Joe Handley Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Can't be, I think I see power tools, and there is a severe lack of whiskey
slusher Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 l wonder how it would hold up in a crash with a suv or even the wild deer???
Joe Handley Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 l wonder how it would hold up in a crash with a suv or even the wild deer??? Hopefully the cage they claim is in there would be sufficent enough, still wouldn't want to be in one and get hit by a semi with the push bars ment for hitting things like Deer, Cattle, Kangaroo, ect!
