Skip Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 That's Cool. Looks more like a Model T Speedster now than a Bugatti. A "T" radiator shell would have looked right at home on it.
Rod Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Spectacular! Great engineering, design and concept. The workmanship is first class. Two thumbs WAY up!
Paul H Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 (edited) Oh yes!!! Fantastic execution of a very cool idea! B) Btw, when I saw the title, I was expecting to see a build of the old Renwal Revival kit, but this is much more interesting & a very pleasant surprise Edited March 22, 2013 by Paul H
Webb Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Good grief Tim, that is very cool! Wheels are perfect. Stance is perfect. I always liked those front mounted blowers. I really, really like this car!!

TimKustom Posted March 22, 2013 Author Posted March 22, 2013 Wow, glad y'all like it and thanks for the nice comments. Here's some answers to the questions asked: The headlights are from the Bugatti kit. They have real nice lenses that almost look "modern" today. The trunk does not open. The real car didn't have one, but I thought I might need to scribe one to give the illusion something could be back there. If if did open, all it would have is a battery and a gas fill. Not much room for anything else. It does have a complete cooling system. The radiator is mounted under the supercharger. A cable driven pump (similar to the fuel pumps that are used on a Nextel Cup car) circulates the would be coolant from the rear freeze plugs. A scoop under the car gets the air while the car would be in motion, an electric fan helps it out too. The dash is cut down form an AMT '27 Lincoln. The gauges are printed out on photo paper from artwork I created. Hose clamps are simply 1/64" chrome tape (where can I get some more?). I added some cut wire to simulate the clamp adjusters on the top ones. The bottom ones are the molded in clamps with the tape added. Amazing what kind of detail lies under thick chrome plating... Here are a few more pix of it and a few in progress. Didn't take much in progress because most everything shows on the finished model.
Dr. Cranky Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 It's a beauty, Tim. Love the color and all that silver and chrome.
Duntov Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 WOW Tim!!!! Neat car!!!! Now you just need a Jay Leno figure to pose with it!!!! )
John Goschke Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Really unique, superb concept, design, execution and presentation! That engine is stunning in detail and your clean workmanship shows up well in the closeup photos.
