orangetubeglue Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 hey. thought I would post something of mine. picked this kit up and heres where I am so far. painted the engine. only extra i added was wiring the spark plugs.
freakshow12 Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 That looks pretty darn nice. I like that engine but never even thought of using it in my 57 lol
Ace-Garageguy Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 perfectly weathered. used, but not overdone. X2
Del Austin Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Engine looks fantastic. Very realistic amount of "aging"
orangetubeglue Posted April 9, 2013 Author Posted April 9, 2013 thanks for the comments X3. What did you use for a wash? I use tube oil paints. here is the rolling chassis
FIREMODELMAN Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Outstanding . Cant wait to see the body. Is this the new release with the cop car parts?
Modlbldr Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Now that is some perfect weathering. Got any tips on how to use the oil paints to get results like that? Just look at the detail in the center of the front wheel. It's perfect. How do you thin the paint and to what consistency? Later-
Shardik Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 (edited) I'm with Tom on this one; I'd love to see a tutorial on your weathering techniques. Your results a amazingly realistic. Getting this kind of subtle used-but-not-abused look seems more difficult than the extreme weathering that we usually see. Edited April 9, 2013 by Shardik
Dr. Cranky Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Love the frame and the weathering. Fabulous results. Congrats.
Gramps2u Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Superb! used & not abused. Looking forward to more.
vintagedragfan Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 really nice start Peter, weathering looks spot on
John Goschke Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 Ditto the other comments about the weathering. Looking forward to more!
