Automatic 250 Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 (edited) Here's my finished AMT 1/25 Ford Fairlane 427 in all her glory. BTW, this is the first kit I've built in 20 years. Edited April 11, 2013 by Automatic 250
TooOld Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Very nicely done Peter ! You can't go wrong with a 427 Fairlane , especially in white . Great job and welcome back to the hobby !
Automatic 250 Posted April 12, 2013 Author Posted April 12, 2013 I see I'm not the only 427 fan out there. Here's a happy coincedence: After I built the kit, it turns out a friend built the exact kit 10 years ago! Here are the two cars side by side: He was younger and more energetic, adding a working trunk, doors and turning front wheels.
Automatic 250 Posted April 12, 2013 Author Posted April 12, 2013 Thanks, Tulio. Your Fairlane is fantastic as well. A beautiful car and a great AMT kit.
W-Machine Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Steelies and dog dish hubcaps get my attention every time. I like your Fairlane, it looks "ready to rumble".

Automatic 250 Posted April 12, 2013 Author Posted April 12, 2013 Nice work after a 20 year break ! Thanks. Turns out I reallllllly missed model building!
Greg Myers Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 20 years, you haven't missed a beat. Great build.
Automatic 250 Posted April 15, 2013 Author Posted April 15, 2013 Thanks Greg. I missed a few beats. I just didn't photograph them. You can check out my true confessions about how the kit came together on the "workbench" forum.
